I'm new. Been playing bedrock on my phone for like 6 months, and more recently Java Minecraft for like 1 month alone on my PC and I'm lonely AF. I just want to play with other people. Is that possible here? If so, how do I get started? Where do I go to get started? There are so many forum posts I'm just super overwhelmed by it all...again I'M NEW at all this, please talk to me like I'm actually NEW at Minecraft, servers, playing other people on here... Also, again, I'm on Java...that's okay for this site, right?
Hello and welcome!! I completely understand that some things here might be confusing, but don’t worry, if you have any questions or need any help with anything, feel free to create a thread in the help section, or message one of us staff members. I think a good place to start is by reading the rules, which you can find by pressing “rules” where you can also see home, forums, members, etc. We also have a guides section on the forums, so maybe you would like to have a look through those! Java is perfectly fine for this forums. If you haven’t joined our server, the IP is Skyblock.net and from there you are able to create an island using the command /newisland. There are many of people in the community who will be happy to help you, so don’t be worried about asking for help whenever.
Tips: If you care about the aesthetics of doors, fences, glass, etc. play using ver. 1.12. Grass is the currency, you can use it to expand your island or spend it on materials you need. If you play a lot grass does come somewhat quickly so don't be afraid to spend your grass on necessities (but prioritize things you actually NEED, not just things you want). Have fun and ask questions in game. This server has a super active friendly community that will probably give you tons of help. Finally just have fun and build what you want. Or spend time visiting people's islands (you can simply click on their name in chat and it will automatically input /visit [playername].

You've made the very wise first step of making a forums account, which is useful because there are so many guides on here. I've linked a few below for you to peruse at your leisure. Instead of regurgitating the generic "farm this block to get rich" mantra, I'll just say this: every single one of the million-odd players that have joined this server since 2012 has had their own unique skyblock experience. There really is no single path to success, since that word means different things for everyone. Some people join our community to explore and make friends while doing silly things. Others aim for making the most grass(grass blocks, as mentioned above, are the money here) or building the prettiest island. I suggest you take a week or two to browse around and see what activity appeals to you most, whether it be socializing, building or trading.
