I have changed a lot in consideration of the recent stuff in thinking about this staff application.
I have been trying to better myself and help people more often. (I already tried to help a lot anyway lol)

My original response is not meant to be rude or harsh, but rather help you improve parts of your application to help better present your skills. As Emy points out, your application is a way to express yourself. An application heavily emphasizes your level of maturity and seriousness towards the application process and your willingness to volunteer your time on the server, and if poorly formatted and worded, it can be taken in the wrong way and tell others that you're unserious which I'm sure you're not, but it comes across that way with the excessive use of colours and spelling/grammar issues.

However, I digress and I'm more than happy to provide additional feedback geared towards you and less about your application. I've seen you in-game a bit and haven't ever seen you had a negative interaction with other players, and you are very frequently active in Skyblock's voice channels, however I would suggest that you are also active in chat as your last three messages were posted on June 24th (one being in a help thread and two in the commands channel), and your last "full" activity being on May 20th. Furthermore, your Discord ban only being a few months ago strays me away from supporting your application as being banned for homophobia and racism is very serious, and failing to initially mention it in your application and your response to once it was pointed out by EPro does not highlight accountability. This isn't something minor that one would forget about as it was a permanent ban.

I really do hope your Discord text activity improves as it allows us to further understand you as a person, and see you more in chat! I'll be more than happy to offer my support once the activity bumps up. Best of luck with your application, Silvia!

 

The ban was 4, almost 5 months ago... That's almost half a year, let's not hang too much in the past.
Also the ban lasted for 30 days, which she was able to get shortened by appealing.

I know this because I got banned at the same time, altho my sentence was halved, without need to appeal.

Also, it was a 30-day ban but that can be forgotten about too how long it was. Honestly, I didn't realise we needed to add bans about the discord either but mrepro made me aware of that one and I did admit to it.

I will try and be more active in the Discord but as I am active in the game for far too many hours I find it hard to make time for the discord also as it is hard to chat in there when I'm also playing in the game but yes I will try and be more active thank you

Yes, I have been banned but also I do learn from the mistakes that I make.

Those are indeed very serious accusations and should not be thrown around lightly.

Unfortunately some people are touchier and looser than others on as to what constitutes homophobia and racism. Poorly placed or worded jokes can easily fall in that category depends on sensitivity of parties involved. I was called 'racist' for putting a trash thrown out of a car window in front of me back in through open window.

That said, where I really have issue with disciplinary action on these topics, is, we use our interpretation of what was being said, rather than intent of person saying it, which is not healthy, and can easily be skewed into whatever narrative we want.

Due to voluntary and definitely not professionally trained nature of staff, I would always elect to question judgements of such sensitive topics and would want to see an evidence of claims before deciding on my judgement.

Knowing Silvia, she could have easily said something with her slightly broken english that could be misinterpreted.

I've really been debating about what feedback to leave for you Silvia. Please note that I think you are a lovely person to be in game with, and this is only my perspective (which can always change!).

I have ultimately gone no support for the following reasons:

• Spelling/grammar - I appreciate that you've reworded your original post, however your replies have poor spelling and grammar. If English wasn't my first language, I think it could occasionally be quite difficult to understand what you've written, which isn't ideal for interacting with a staff member.
• Chat behavior - I've used /ignore for you several times (not currently, and not for a little while) when you had ads/auto messages running more frequently, although I do note that you have several which are still active. I personally think using multiple auto messages gives the impression of activity when you may be afk, which could make it frustrating for players who need in game support seeing global chat messages from you while not being replied to.
• Player help - I don't see you answer a lot of greenie questions in chat about server mechanics or other common questions, but it may be that I've missed your answers/other people have replied first! I want to support staff applicants who make an effort to answer questions for players, even it's usually the same 5 questions about dirt/saplings/lava etc, so I would really like to see more from you in this area.

With my replies, I didn't realize it was a big deal to have good grammar in them, as they are typed up quickly and not spell-checked or checked for grammar. However, I can make sure to do that from now on, thank you.

With the auto chat messages from my main account, I have been thinking about that one since I applied for staff and I've concluded that whenever I'm not at my computer log out of the account that would have the [staff] so players don't get confused and this that there is a staff member online

And player help I answer many questions every in the chat from new players I know that a lot of the time others may not see that if you afk or are not online I can assure you that I do (that's one of the main things I do on the server anyway main region I thought about becoming staff)

I think Silvia would be a good mod;
active in multiple places like the Discord, the forums, and on Skyblock
also, in my personal experience, he's been helpful many times whenever i needed something and is good, considering I'm not a long standing member and had just started playing recently.

Also about the spelling and grammar i see people mention, in my personal beliefs i think a mod should be focused on the well‑being of the community, i see the issue of having communication issues with a mod but i feel like more than likely you could get the point across in most cases.

I very much agree with IDevs, I would always prefer a moderator with a good personality and bad spelling, than the opposite
