I want something to be done about this not punishing people. If I see anyone breaking the rules I instantly kick them. So
Wade so what you're saying is that that mod aren't punishing people for things in chat and yet you're saying that you're not saying that? I'm confuzzled. Wade as many other people have stated, mods do watch chat and a few little buggers slip through because they can't catch them all. (This is just what I'm seeing)
Our job is to moderate the chat but we also have other jobs too. Which sets us apart from players. Think about it. watching chat answering questions watching trades breaking locks dealing with griefs/loots and scams being asked for items/enchants etc You don't have to do all those things. Sometimes I deal with 4 things of that list at a time while watching chat. Of course some people wont be kicked. If you knew what it was actually like to be a moderator you would understand how much we need to do, and that kicking a player that says one swear word is not my priority when I am helping someone who was scammed for example. I have my priorities. Mini mod all you want, it is no issue. But don't go taking on this attitude that you can moderate better than mods when you are a player who can easily sit back and relax and watch chat without a care and instruct people. You don't miss much because your focus can be on chat alone rather than on anything else. Just mini mod and be humble about it rather than insult staff and try and bring attention to what you do.
There's really no point in us moderators to manually type in chat "(Name), please don't use caps" when we have /kick..
This isn't stating why you mini mod lololol this is you telling us what to do. Sure go report them, don't make this thread something telling the mods what to do. We all do what WE think is right, not because you want it like that, every player may as well be muted if it was like that. I really don't mean to be rude, but I'm not even going to bother reading it. No one here has any reason to mini mod. You are not making yourself seem more helpful either, by telling us all why you do what you do. No, it's only making you look more ignorant. Let staff do their job. If you're so confident about your capabilities, make a well rounded application, and join the team. Then you can help whoever you would like.
^^^ There's more than you think we actually do. We don't just sit there and kick people, there's all the other stuff we handle too. Please understand we don't publicly tell everyone what we're handling and doing, as that is a topic between us staff.
No one cares if you or anyone else minimods; if you do then good on you just make sure you're saying the right things- nothing is wrong with mini modding, usually moderators are dealing with it in private direct to msg but if people say it in public chat then it informs other players who may not of known, so again, no one cares if anyone else mini mods, its just the mini modding in general which does annoy players if so and the fact that half of the mini modding people are applying for mod, surprise-surprise tho
