Forums, Discord or Server (Skyblock, Economy, Classic): SB Your in-game Minecraft username: QueenxAlex In-game Minecraft username of offender: QueenxAlex What rule was broken by this player? IDK yet Please describe the situation: Queen muted 30days I asked 52 multiple times but was rudely ignored (not the first time) so could some kind moderator please answer me. I will accept punishment for any wrongdoing I would just like to know what it was first (screenshots or proof would be great). God bless!
Punished account name: QueenxAlex Platform or server punished on: Skyblock Ban message if applicable: No message Have you read the rules? Yes Do you think this punishment was incorrect? I'm not sure yet Why should you be unbanned? Because Idk why I was muted Please list any other times you were punished on Skyblock: Very little recently which I am proud of. If you know, tag the staff member that banned you: no clue Do you understand and accept our rules and code of conduct? I do absolutely I asked Krissy in game and was told to appeal so here I am. I told her I don't think I have very much chance of an appeal of mine being listened to going off past appeals and a general distrust for myself. I would like to think I have proven myself greatly over the past months, I have been very well behaved. (unless you have some incriminating screenshot which proves me wrong but I really cant think of anything I have said or done that is warranting a 31day mute)
Hi Queen, thank you for appealing. I would like to mention to you I was the staff member who muted you yesterday. This was due to your chat infractions. It is only fair you know who and why. I hope that this small bit of information will benefit you for this current moment in time & reassure you enough that this appeal/report will not be ignored. I will go through this in more detail with you soon on this thread. Thanks.
Hi Queen! Please be assured there is no hostility or hatred between the two of us. Rest assured IF anything has been said this was not malicious or derogatory in anyway. I am happy to pick this up with you in another location other than this appeal. This appeal is for your mute As you know, you have been punished serveral times while you’ve been apart of our Skyblock community and even with those punishments we have noticed no change in terms of your chat behaviour on our server and some comments made are just completely inappropriate. We believe that muting you would give you the best opportunity to reflect on what’s been done and said over the past x amount of months. Even if I didn’t like you, which is not the case at all, as a Mod we have to separate professional and personal. You are a lovely person to talk to Queen but unfortunately your chat behaviour was the outcome of your mute, there is absolutely no personal conflict in this. As mentioned above, I will discuss your appeal with you and will be displaying screenshots or quotes of some chat offences I’d like to pick up. I hope this does clear things up
Hi Queen, thank you for your patience regarding your appeal. I would like to talk through a few things that have been said in Skyblock chat by yourself and try to understand why you think this is acceptable to say on our server. At the end of our discussion, I will recap over your history, over the past year on Skyblock. First of all, some questions unrelated to the original mute, but a factor of this appeal. Could you please summarise: 1. Why you used signs/books to evade your mute? 2. What a mute means to you? Thanks
Thank you for taking responsibility of the fact you did do this and I appreciate your honesty in response. I would like to mention that Punishment evading is stated in the server rules thread. The exact details of this are vast. Unfortunately, what I do disagree with is: This is due to messages sent by yourself via a sign towards another player 'asking them to call' You also told a player they had a lovely island, along with saying 'I spawned them for you' Logs of this and further examples can be seen in the spoiler below: I can confirm that these screenshots show that the signs were placed on the 16th July, I messaged you on the 18th July clarifying the evasion rule. I am happy to see that you have not used signs since my message. This shows some growth already. To further show that you are taking this mute seriously, that would have been the perfect chance to let me know you had done this however, following clarification were no longer going to. That would indicate you are taking this mute seriously and honestly reflecting as to why you are muted. This leads me onto the next part of the above using books. A large part of being in a community is taking responsibility for actions and identifying when something seems unusual or odd. As you know, a mute cuts off your chat access so using Signs and Books to bypass around this is something that we don't allow or encourage. You state that other players were giving you the books. I appreciate that you weren't aware of the rules at this moment in time but going forward you are welcome to clarify rules, ask about things that seem odd and ask for more information when it comes to depicting our server rules. Any member of our staff team will help you with this. I do appreciate you reaching out to players asking them to stop giving you the books. This again shows some growth within your attitude towards the mute etc. If the players do not follow your request, please reach out to any of us via Discord and we can address this with the player if necessary To conclude on the first part of this message, when a user is banned or mute, that means that they should have no access to the server chat or server in general. In your case, your mute means you should have no access of communication with players. This involves signs, books and any other methods that exist to communicate. I hope this is truly the end of the mute bypassing. ------ Moving onto the second question that I asked, "What does a mute mean to you?" From the duration of your mute so far, can you please share examples of: Example 1 Example 2 Example 3 I hope that this is true, I hope that this mute has drawn your attention to how seriously we do react to chat offences and attitudes towards things. I appreciate we may be stricter on this than other servers however, we also have a group of our player base which is a lot younger than ourselves. We want to ensure that chat is appropriate for all users of legal age to player Minecraft. What you choose to say in DM's with friends is upto you, we will only step in if these go too far & respond to reports as per any. One of our priorities as a community, not just staff, is to keep the server a safe and happy place for our players, we want people to feel as though then can come and escape 'real life' on Skyblock. This is only possibly if our chat atmosphere if tranquil and respectful. This is one of the reasons why we decided to mute you earlier this week as things were doing too far. Following on from this message and your response to the above questions, I will display some message's that have been sent into chat by yourself over the past x amount of months. We will evaluate 1 situation at a time together so we can both express our thoughts towards the messages Thank you for taking the time to read this message, I hope to hear from you soon. - Megan
Hi Queen, apologies in my delay getting back to you, you are active during my work hours so our replies are staggering. I will begin my message by responding to your Examples of reflection. Thank you for doing this. I hope that you have identified what you have said and what can change in order to stay appropriate and in-line with the rules that we have on Skyblock. It would be interesting to hear about what you have identified as an error. I appreciate you taking this time for yourself. One of my reasons for this mute was to ensure that you had correct and adequate time to reflect on everything. It is a shame that it has taken all of your history to get to this stage however, with that being said, I hope this will trigger the start of a new chat ettiquette and attitude. Again, as mentioned in my previous message this shows growth, the sense of responsibility is apparent. I hope that this answer has changed already by where we are in this appeal. ----- I will now start to discuss some of the scenario's which has lead us to this appeal today. I will ask a few questions but will heavily depend on you to explain a few things that are not so clear to me. Please note before I begin: I will mention things that have happened on other Skyblock platforms but these are not directly linked to your in-game mute. I am going to take advantage of that fact this appeal is present to discuss these.
Firstly, Forums incidents Feb '22 - March '22 The below screenshots were taken from Profile Posts on Forums during February and March 2022. Baring in mind your history over the last year only shown above, please could you talk me through your thought process when posting these messages? Could you please also explain to me, why you think I am mentioning this to you and what rules these messages specifically break? 1. 2. There are other occasions where you have been muted and personally asked me as to why. An example can be seen below. This doesn't show a lot of regret or want to change. Almost as if, you were excusing yourself. As mentioned, I will appreciate your honest answers throughout this appeal and will ensure that every query there is resolved. In order to move forward with the appeal, answers to the questions are mandatory. Thank you
Thank you for your response. Apologies for not getting back to you yesterday, it was a busy day all around, hence my response first thing this morning. If I may ask, after all of the warnings you have had on our forums, specifically, why were those ignored? It appears as though the warnings that were issued to you had no affect on your behaviour at all. This is something I need large amounts of reassurance regarding. I don't believe as of yet, that this mute will provoke any change in your chat behaviour.
Secondly, In-game incidents March '22 These below screenshots were taken from in-game during the month of March '22 on our server. These again as mentioned above, are completely inappropriate. Your chat infractions seem to lack an element of 'thinking before you speak.' For these, I would again, like you to write in your own words what rule was broken and why you broke it. You were warned prior to this incident to mind what you say in game. Alongside informal warnings, this was ignored. Please see the screenshots which I would like you to use for the questions laid out below. Questions: 1. In your own words please summarise what rule was broken, why you broke it and what those rules mean to you, 2. What key message you have hopefully learnt and will take away from this? 3. Why you are voluntarily ignoring all punishments our staff team have issued to you? Once you have sent a response, I will share my thoughts on the above messages. As before, these questions are mandatory for any progress to be made on the appeal. Many thanks
Hi Queen, thank you for your prompt reply. There are a couple of things I would like to pick up from your message before we move forward onto the next event. I will start at the top of your response and work my way down. This is something I have noticed, hence why I quoted your Forum history. However, other reminders to you on Skyblock, in general, have not had much of an impact. Whether this be forums, discord, or in-game the rules on inappropriate chat and behaviour are static and require the same level of attention by players. This is what I wonder... It is expected that players have a high level of focus on any punishments they are given across our Skyblock platforms. These punishments are there as reminders to reform ones behaviour and presence to avoid any hostility or drama on our server. As much as I agree this has been the case for forums, this should have been the action you took for in-game too. Unfortunately it's apparent this did not take place. This will be expanded on later. Thank you for responding to this with honesty and I hope this is something that you do take away from this appeal. Here are some things I would like you to take away: Think before speaking Know your audience Develop an understanding of our rules and Code of Conduct we have in place Use this as experience to develop as a Skyblock player Think about how a 'joke' may be taken by other people Have a strong understanding of your history. (I will discuss this with you) Rules: Skyblock Official Site | Skyblock Code of Conduct: Skyblock Official Site | Skyblock Moving on with my response: This is something that I hope this appeal will teach you. It is slightly concerning that at times you don't know what has been said/done is wrong at the time. In chat offences realising after the incident is too late. This is what we want to avoid, with everyone. Thank you for this explanation. This doesn't entirely fit with the conversation, however, I will take your word for it. At this moment in time, you were discussing a player updating a 'selfie; to which, two inappropriate messages from both parties were shared. I hope that you can see as to why I interpreted the message in this way. I would like to take this second to thank you for recognising your errors in those above screenshots alone. In my next message, I will talk through the next incident. I apologise for the length of my messages.
Moving on, In-game incidents March/April '22 The below screenshots were taken from in-game infractions also in March, moving into April of this year. As mentioned, I will be discussing some situations with you over the last year. I will not pick up on everything but that does not mean they are not relevant. These are just some things I have together. Before we begin with any explanations or questions, I would like to mention you were warned for the above messages prior to this incident as well. The messages in question are: All of these messages leave me with a lot of questions and a lot of worry. I truly don't think I can count on one hand the amount of times we as a team have informally asked and formally punished you on our server for being inappropriate in chat or following the rules of our server. One of these burning questions being, How many more times do we need to mention this to you? From those screenshots above, please can you explain to me what you should have done and what could be done differently if you were to be unmuted? Other screenshots from around this time can be located below. Due to only being able to upload 10 files at one time I have stopped here. I assume you have got the gist of where I am going with this. These were all within March and April this year. History proves you were infracted for this at the time. [CHAT] QueenxAlex was muted by *staff*: 'highly inappropriate chat (wishing everyone to be abducted by china and sterilised)' Again.. another mute for inappropriate chat yet we are here today discussing another mute for another incident. To conclude on two long messages: Some things I would like you to take away: Think before speaking Know your audience Develop an understanding of our rules and Code of Conduct we have in place Use this as experience to develop as a Skyblock player Think about how a 'joke' may be taken by other people Have a strong understanding of your history. (I will discuss this with you) Questions I require an answer to: What should you have done differently? If given the chance what will be done differently? Why you ignored previous punishments prior to these messages and sent them anyway? I hope to hear from you soon.
