Despite having had huge gaps of extreme inactivity here...this Skyblock is actually the first public server I ever played on after I first purchased and started playing Minecraft in September 2014: I was horribly slow getting started with Minecraft (especially since to be honest I was never really much of a gamer at all before then...plus, as an adult player, I kinda had other things to focus on...and still do...including work, etc., which doesn't take a summer break or long holidays such as many school kids have between semesters, for the most part). Many months later, in the spring of 2015 (once I had acclimated to knowing a bit about Minecraft and was really becoming enamored of it), one of the friends I had been playing on a tiny whitelisted server with emailed me the link to download Noobcrew's Skyblock map to play around with...and I was hooked. I then started playing here in March 2015 and have maintained connection here off and on ever since.
Drogo likes to use clever engineering and redstone skills to take him toward total domination of the wool market. Used to be stone and wool, but stone market is worthless now. Also want to finish my build and in the mean time will push on towards 100,000 island level. Also most people are pretty cool.
The community is good and tends to stay out of politics normally, which I personally find annoying when people bring up politics. (I play Skyblock to get rid of stress, not get more is why) It's also fun to play around with redstone as others can help you if you need help as there are some good redstone engineers. Also every once in a while some person comes up with a great idea or something that changes the server. Basically great community that does not get on my nerves very often. Also most things are simple, which I like because it doesn't take too much knowledge to play. I personally like to show off some redstone devices that are creative, and build up my skill in redstone, as I am not the best with pistons or hoppers and stuff like that.
Also here's a tip, for more fun try to use the grass to make something creative so you can have your own unique place. For example, try modifying casino designs to make them more fun looking or complex. For example, Falco has a 26 slot casino or something, each dispenser dispenses its own item by chance. Be creative! (I would combine this into my other post, but I wanted to separate my help from my experience. Not sure how to do BB code very well.)
Pretty sure my cousin introduced me to the server, or a sibling - it was a long time ago and it's very faint. I do remember getting addicted to the game though and sticking around (as you would know seen as I'm still here) and I've been lucky enough to have the pleasure of being promoted to the team twice and I don't plan on leaving any time soon! The community and the server as a whole is a great place and granted I haven't sadly had the chance to be online for a few weeks now but I'm quite active every day. Handling player queries and issues isn't the only thing I do on the server though, I build a lot (more than most people think lol) mostly on my main island (/visit Athryix) which is currently being a pain with the sand and concrete but looks great, and then also running one of the biggest shops (/visit CloudCentre) and it's amazing that I can give so much back to the community while enjoying it. If you were to tell me I had to leave this server and find another one to play on.. I just couldn't.

I joined Skyblock 2014, I was playing on non full access account and i start liking the game so i decided to get my own account and start playing again. Also make a whole new friends again.
I play skyblock because of all the friends I've made on the server, and how nice everyone is. The people on economy are kinda like a big friend group in my opinion, as (well mostly) we all get along with each other pretty well! There is so many things to do on this server, may it be expanding your island, constructing a farm, stalking AH to flip items (very good way to make money with only around 15k) or simply talking in chat, everything is fun on the server. I’ve never come across a server quite like this one. I got my first laptop for Christmas in 2016 and was so excited to finally get Minecraft on PC (I was played pocket edition on my tablet for a really long time). I played some servers and made some survival worlds, and then I remembered seeing some people on YouTube play skyblock maps. I wanted to try it so I tried downloading the maps and failed; I couldn’t figure it out :’) Then my sister told me that there are skyblock servers and that we should try one of those. We both joined here after a quick google search and we loved it. For a few weeks we couldn’t stop playing; we’d eat dinner and then rush up the stairs to keep working on our island. I just loved the server. I then eventually found myself applying for staff. I guess its kind of strange but I feel like my application actually kept me around for longer than I would have stayed had I not applied. I was applying for a very long time and every now and then locking it did cross my mind, but I couldn’t bring myself to give up on it because I was far too determined to prove to myself (and some other people) that I could do it. I like to think that resilience is one my better qualities, I’m glad it paid off And that brings me to today I guess. First of all, being a part of the staff team is amazing. I love it and I love being able to help the server. It’s given me the opportunity to make some great friends and the feeling of being part of a team like this one is just great. Being able to help players get looted items back, for example; it’s so nice when you can see how genuinely grateful they are to have their chest of items back. I love that At this moment in time, I genuinely can’t see myself not being a part of the staff team in the future. And then there’s this community. Like I said I have never come across a server quite like this one. There’s just something about the atmosphere and the community that draws you in. I’ve joined other servers and played on them for a bit, but I have never stuck around on one like I have on skyblock. In fact, I don’t play any other aspects of Minecraft anymore - I don’t play survival worlds or other servers, I head straight to skyblock when I load up MC. Every now and then I’ll play some mini games with friends (Devannn_ is weirdly good at party games) And finally I’ve made some amazing friends here. I never thought I could be such good friends with people I met here, but I was definitely proved wrong! Some special shoutouts to my best friends from over my years here I guess, Devannn_ Euphoria (astro) Athyrix Laini Bossgamer Eggyolk2OO2 (although I only see you on discord now, but you’re a blast haha) Sorry if I missed any out, there are definitely more A very waffly story from me haha. It's the nostalgia for me. I remember back when skyblock was still new. I would stay up all night many times just playing and socializing on the server. I was basically addicted to the server. I love to revisit the old server and get all emo and reminiscent. this server has a very special place in my heart
