Global chat is very spammy. And the majority of global chat are people asking to buy/trade. Creating a channel specifically for this purpose that users can opt in/out of would keep clutter down and improve player experiences!

 

I agree with you. I hate all the trade chats. But we have to be able to keep an eye out for people trying to trade illegal items. Until we find out a way to do that we aren't just going to add a trade chat.

How so? It's the same as moderating it in the main channel, just in a different colored channel.

Even if a trade system is implemented (which would be great as well), separate chat would be beneficial.

 

The fact at how fast writing would be scrolling up your screen and you wouldn't have time to read it.

 

Actually thinking about this for a bit, there wouldn't need any extra moderating at all. In fact, this would be eliminating main chat "spam" by taking the trades and throwing them into a trade channel. You would still see all normal messages in the same channel, wouldn't you?

 

Wut? That's exactly how it is now. With a trade channel the messages would just be in a different color. Aaaand normal members who want to, could opt out of the channel altogether

 

Use a plugin to report trades of specific blocks. Specific blocks can be indexed with creator. If someone winds up with forbidden blocks (e.g., buckets), they are ultra simple to query.

 

We don't wanna see who ends up with them, we want to prevent it from even happening. Like a trade plugin that doesn't let you trade specific items at all.

 

Im not personally familiar with a plugin that would prevent trades. However, you will still need to police movement of blocks in general; a command line query... or a short script for a general report/query for certain blocks... is very workable.

Problem with general trades is that items thrown or placed (e.g., in chests) can be picked up by anyone. Yet, for skyblock, you need exceptions... notably, if an islandmate, one can pick up items thrown by members.

Ideally, every day or two, a mod (maybe a specialist who does the duty regularly) generates the lists of improper block balances of players (e.g., all who own 5+ worldspawn buckets), then visits/investigates. The player should have a credible explanation, or face a ban (for example).

I would absolutely love being able to have shops, then this wouldn't really be as greatly needed.

Plus, in july they had a trade channel, as well as a plugin to create new channels (really just used for people in a island).
