    Oh, I'm not exactly sure

The command I used to get the OS was
    sudo sh -e ~/Downloads/crouton -t xfce,chrome,keyboard,core

    Does that help at all?

Nope. The OS is Linux, but Linux only refers to the core of the OS. Different organisations package that core differently with different apps etc, that's called the Distro. Different Distros package different GUIs like gnome, xfce etc, and that's what you're incorrectly referring to as the OS.

When you first installed the command line of Linux, where'd you do that from?

I'm using a Dell Chromebook 11. I went into Crosh (ctrl + alt + t). I then typed "Shell". Then I proceeded to type sudo sh -e ~/Downloads -t xfce, chrome, keyboard, core. Then I let it do it's thing and install and setup for about 15 minutes. After that, it asked me for a username. I entered my a username. Then it asked for a password. I entered my password. Then I typed "sudo startxfce4". By that time, the Linux was installed and ready to use.

Lopk mentioned JDK. JDK means Java Development Kit. So that may be the problem.
