Pretty much the title Was wondering why my sugarcane didn't grow an inch after several hours, did several tests and found that if the block sugarcane is planted on (not moss) is on top of a moss block, it does not grow. Checked there was no cropper on the chunk. Three tests I did Dirt on cobblestone and Water on cobblestone - grew Dirt on cobblestone and Water on moss - grew Dirt on moss and Water on cobblestone - did not grow
i dont get it, so u mean the block below the dirt affects the growth? can you upload a picture to confirm the test setup?
This sugarcane has been here for 1 whole IRL day, you can see how sugarcane dirt/sand that is on top of moss does not grow. What the water is on top of doesn't matter after testing As soon as I replace the moss block with other blocks, it starts growing. Other crops were for testing if there was a phantom cropper / see if it happens to other crops
That might be related to efforts on banning growing sugarcane on moss. The plugin preventing it might look up to 3 blocks above if a new sugarcane was growing and therefore prevent growth, intercepting that event.
I agree. However, that means the plugin has a bug as it should stop looking when it sees either no sugarcane directly above moss or other blocks like dirt/sand.
You can post a bug report here and the dev team will look into it at some point https://skyblock.net/forums/bug-reports.317/ Interesting discovery though ✨
Tbh we have worse bugs around and this is not affecting the player experience that bad. Tbh it can also be seen as a feature. So bug report of course, but don't expect it to be fixed anytime soon.
