OK But actually it's quite hard to prove people have free cammed and copied your builds in many scenarios. In events where someone has a really unique design which has been copied blatantly, that should warrant a ban

 

tempted to put deliberate mistakes or redundant blocks into my map platform to make it super obvious if its been copied

 

lol the benefits of me doing stupid redstone is that some people believe it’s necessary for my machine to work. I made a contraption that puts a composter on top of a hopper once the composter is full and then takes it back once the bonemeal is extracted from the composter. There’s NO reason that my flower farm needs that. The composter can just STAY on the hopper without ever moving. In fact, the bonemeal from the composter can be skipped altogether if you want to save a hopper and instead just feed in bonemeal yourself. (It has to be manual anyways, it’s not like I made it so the seeds automatically go in the composter or something). I gave someone the original flower farm schematic and said “use this, don’t add the unnecessary stuff you see on my island.” Instead, they just took their own schematic of my farm and recreated ALL of it, moving composter system and all. Like.. alright, I tried to tell you lol.

 

Hi! I'm a survival player only, but I feel like this controversy can be applied to both servers hence I decided to comment as well! ;p
I understand people being frustrated and unmotivated for someone stealing something they worked so dearly on, but it's literally impossible to prove someone's authorship over a farm or some redstone build they made.

Just because I'm the first who built an ore generator(I'm only giving an imaginary example, I'm sure multiple people have come up with this idea) shouldn't mean I can forbid anyone I want for copying my idea only because I was the first to build it... I might get backlash from saying this, but this screams of opportunities for greedy people wanting to monopolize farms that haven't been thought yet on both servers, though I hope I'm only overthinking.

Either way, if people are disturbed so much by this I'd suggest the extreme measure that I'm sure no one wants but would be one of the only fixes to this problem, which is BANNING USE OF FREECAM/X-RAY OR LITEMATICA( or go above and beyond and ban all hacks/mods, liven up the economy a lil bit tehe :3)! If there was measures against freecam and these hacked clients or mods, no one would be able to check your island and copy any farm you have in it, problem solved! Of course everyone will be against it because most people would be inconvenienced from this.

I completely respect and agree with luka's and the staff decision on this matter, if this ever was approved, not only would this result in an absurd work for staff, but this peaceful community would also turn into a warfare zone over every new farm that revolute the economy. In my opinion, unless someone has a veeeery deeeeeep proof that they designed a giant farm themselves(idk, explain the whole process on how they thought it and maybe inspirations from different kind of farms, and nothing found on internet), no punishments should be applied unless someone literally copied the farm, block by block, regardless if they did it manually or with bots/hacks, and couldn't explain how it works...

 

How do you suggest going about banning two undetectable mods.

 

you dont even need freecam, litematica allows you to just type the 2 cords of the area you want to copy, im pretty sure schematics can copy whats on signs so maybe just hide a sign incased in blocks saying its your build and problem solved

 

you're joking about the sign = problem solved, right

 

Printer doesn't type out signs, no person paying attention building a schematic would write out a sign saying "<blank>'s build no stealing".

edit: A better method of copy protection to people not knowledgeable/printer would be some random blocks that obviously have no relevance to the build hidden away.

 

If you place a sign in the same location as a sign in your schematic it will automatically write what was on the sign.

 

I'm sorry for speaking while not knowing of this then. If they truly can't be detected then gg, there's literally nothing that can be done unless they're caught on the spot manually or don't bother to check and change the build at all. Sure, it definitely should say on the rules that using for stealing is prohibited, but in the end it won't make any difference whatsoever if they're undetectable. I'm truly astonished how low people go on minecraft servers.

Huh? Litematica is missing a printer function for 1.19? But I just used it to print a Redstone trading machine for @K4IYU :O does the mod speed it up or something?

i think you can print with litematica if you have baritone or the printer ad-on

 

idk if it has to be that black and white

 

I believe printer does type out signs; I printed an old build for a friend transferring it to a new island and it just printed the signs including text I was so impressed

 

Forbidding copying "ideas" isn't the issue, it's exact builds on islands/areas you shouldn't be able to access.
