    Edit; For some reason, I was unable to place water/lava on Mineverse creative - therefore I replaced water with blue carpet and lava with red carpet

    If you put a piece of glowstone next to the ice it should turn into water :)

    You can also do /egms (survival) and /egmc (creative)
    Basically, go into survival mode and just break the ice. It works also.

    the sign obviously would not be a part of the island, it is just indicating where the bedrock and spawn is :)
