Hey everyone, This post of course is a bit different than what we usually do but I discovered this amazing Skyblock video the other day and felt it was worth sharing! SmallAnt, the skilled YouTuber, took the original Skyblock world (version 2.1) and remarkably managed to acquire much of the newer Minecraft items and blocks through vanilla mechanics. From diamond tools to a wither rose and even a blue axolotl, I had no idea many of these features were possible. Keep in mind the original Skyblock map is over twelve years old now and was first released on Minecraft Beta 1.7.3. I feel if anyone wants to take Skyblock to the next level that this video is an invaluable tutorial to go by, though considering the amount of time invested (over 500 hours of gameplay), I personally wouldn't recommend it. If SmallAnt ever comes across this, I'd personally like to bestow upon him the title of Skyblock Master! If you guys feel we should showcase even more Skyblock based Youtube videos every month just like this, let us know!
I think he used a different skyblock world. Wither roses and axolotls are unobtainable in the original skyblock as the necessary biomes don't exist (pls fix )
They are obtainable, as the biomes still exist, you just have to pillar out until you find the biomes and build a platform. Skyblock servers still have biomes, just nothing in them
Doing this challenge would be near impossible on the server due to having no villager trading Also having no lava farming via dripstone
The Server has restrictions, the Skyblock map doesnt, you can use farms like lava dripstone farm, iron farm and more, meanwhile in the server you cant. You can also bridge to diff biomes to get biome specific blocks/mobs while you have a limited choice of biomes in the server
i call credit that i was the first to link this video on the discord! i think! it's funny that this was linked considering how much of it we CAN'T do on the server. funny and sad. maybe this will inspire some reenabled mechanics. a lot of why i find minecraft interesting is how much you can do with just vanilla mechanics.. well, how much you COULD do
