DARK BLUE TEXT IS TOPIC - GRAY IS BEEF WITH STRAY - TLDR IS AT BOTTOM FOR LAZY PEOPLE. Stray, just because you're 19 you arent automatically more mature than everyone. Take this quote: "Maturity is not measured by age. It's an additude, built by experience." also, just sayin, i have had alot more experience in life then alot of people, so even though i mess around ((which should be allowed it's a block game for like 9 year olds why do we have to be all proper like ffs)) it doesnt mean i'm immature, lol. 'Criticism' and 'Opinion' are the ways that stray says Opinion: 'Im not attacking you leave me alone if i say im more mature than you, then i clearly am just because im 19!! ur all kids and are immature i have much much more life experience therefore i am superior im always right' Criticism: 'what do you mean i was rude to you 5+ times no leave me be its criticism no i didnt say you were immature and had childish traits it doesnt matter if i called you arrogant and oblivious just because what im saying doesnt make sense to anyone else but me thats just criticism!!' Also before next time u use the words 'constructive criticism' look at this: Constructive criticism | Define Constructive criticism at Dictionary.com I think you apply more to this type of criticism, maybe not as straight forward, but you certainly arent building people up so it isnt 'constructive' at all: Destructive | Define Destructive at Dictionary.com 19 year old doesnt know what words mean, meh. Now onto the topic. The potential reset. I think it would add life into the server again, what most people are here for nowadays is just the community, as 'toxic' as it is, most people still have a few connections through this server which keep them coming back, they dont pay attention as much to grinding for items to sell as they would if there were a full reset. Not to mention, the players donated on their accord to the server, some for the perks, but some to just donate. Cyp/noob have the ability to do anything they want as the commands/perks alongside donating are just in return, Cyp/noob could've been all "Donate if you want, note; you won't get anything back" and it'd have been completely fine, perks were a mere appreciation token for supporting the server. I would honestly prefer a EULA abiding reset, where donors would only recieve cosmetics and/or conveniences through some commands such as /ptime day, /tpa, etc (as these have no effect on ingame economy or provide any benefits to a players's balance/amount of items.) This would also open the ability to go further in versions to 1.11.2 and then from there, we could use things such as shulker boxes, observer blocks, and other things to either simplify or complicate redstone contraptions, allowing farms to be bigger, and other things. Look, If you're all worried about losing pixel items on a dying block-game server with a broken economy, then thats cool. If you care more about the benefit of the server itself and player-counts possibly rising due to wanting to start fair, having no advantages over others, and the sense of 'now it isnt pay to win, i might stand a chance within the community if i dedicate enough time/thought.' Honestly, it'd keep new players coming back, which in the grand scheme of things, is what matters. This post will be too long for anyone to read because you and I both know you're too lazy unless you're some nerd like me, but hey, zero ratings/responses are what im used to. TL;DR: The reset would keep new players coming back, and abiding to the eula would allow for everyone to grind equally so it isnt most money wins, it's best farms, and most dedication. Edit: fixed one grammatical error I wouldve been attacked for because making one typo is immature now guys
Theepicwotsit: misinterpreting sayings since 2017. Dont reply to me if you dont have something halfway smart to say . You amuse me.
It kind of was post farming this thread is in discussion not off-topic, so each message adds to your overall. Before I came back to this server 7 months ago, I played on a server that had resets (also a skyblock server). It even reached down to 10 players online a day like .org. When the owner finished the reset, he added so many more interesting things to the server, new advertisement, new ingame features, it was awesome. After the reset, everyone still played. It was insane.
I appreciate the beefy response mate, but if you have a problem with Stray, keep it to private message please, would rather not have big paragraphs between a certain 3 people on my suggestion. K thx. P.S I love you Geeky
Sorry dude just had to get it out lol, have nowhere else to but oml I have alot more but you know kids forum id get reported n stuff, meh. ly2 dude
If we're being real here, Stray hasn't attacked a single person here. He hasn't bullied, or "flamed", against anyone. He's not getting triggered because people post their thoughts. But what do I know? I just read his posts.
I like the idea. In the last few days, I have made hundreds of diamonds. The loss would hurt. But I think that as well as losing players, we would gain many many more. +1 to you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I would support a reset if it were done "right." In terms of rares and riches, I would generally be one of this thread's most vehement opponents. My possessions bias me against supporting a decision that would destroy them. And that goes for a lot of people; many cannot look past the loss of material wealth (well, virtual material wealth) that a reset entails. Not only does it nullify all past luck and effort spent towards advancing in the skyblock community, but it also puts everyone, old and new, on an equal playing field, and there's no telling who will and will not advance in the unknown, unpredictable future. I am not immune to the easy temptation of this perspective. However, when thinking on a broader scale, this scenario is not my reality. What fun is it to be rich on a server that no one plays? Hell, what fun is it to have riches at all when I can't do anything with them? The real fun in playing on the server for its "economic" (put in quotes to satisfy goofballs like Krissy) aspects is the journey to be rich, the trading and bartering leading to long-term profit--at least to me. Presently, skyblock no longer offers that fun. I do not play often as a result. So, I support a reset, but only one that makes the server fun. Reimbursing players who had lots of items before the reset? Preserving enderchests? Where's the fun in that? That's not a true reset. It doesn't have the same effect. We still have the same old players desperately clinging onto the same prized possessions, relishing their items like a sports pro showing off his/her trophies to friends--but merely displaying the trophies is but an empty pleasure compared to the glory found in winning them. But that's just what would make the server fun for me--I like competition. The question now becomes "what makes the server fun for others?" The answer to that is "new and interesting." When experiencing something new, special regions of our brain are activated and more dopamine is released (read as: we become happy and engaged). As we grow accustomed to that experience, it shifts from new to old, and we don't react as well to it; we get bored. What's my point? I'd say that the core aspects of skyblock have been the same for a while now. Starting an island, expanding it, being creative with it, etc. etc.--it has gotten old for many people. I think that if we reset, resetting and not adding twists and changes to make the game more interesting would be unwise. Some people would lose their motivation for sticking with the server and just leave. The already-declining server population might die out altogether. What we need is not a "reset," but rather a "revamp." If Cyp were willing to not only fix the server but change it and make it more interesting, then I daresay this server (and Cyp/Crew's wallets?) would benefit greatly.
People would convert dias to blocks, store heads, beacons, more rares etc, wouldn't the grind back up to being rich, starting from nothing be better? If you had the ability to store 27 slots, that's 15552 dias, if you made it all into blocks. tbh i think if it was clean, no eula-breaking stuff, no p2w, no nothin, then it'd be better.
i would love a reset because it brings so much more opportunities to the server without the lag but the only downside is the chance that some people may quit, but i can see a lot more players coming online and playing
A reset leaves the server open for a "face lift" and just overall the chance to fix what needs to be fixed.
I wouldn't mind a server reset. Yes, the risk of pretty much killing the entire community is there, but there is also a chance that this reset could revive the server. What the server needs is something to keep new players coming back. Aside from the goal of building the perfect island, there is no drive and motivation for new players to continue playing. It's hard for greenies to acquire currency, so most of them are not involved in the economy. Not to mention the server's lag is only pushing them away. Without new players, the server will die, because then everyone will get bored and stray away from the game until no one is playing it anymore. Basically if the server does get reset, there needs to be something new added. If it does nothing else other than fix lag and bugs, then I feel like a server reset would just kill the server, since it's just the same old Skyblock we know. If the whole point of a reset is to just fix the server, then I don't know if it's really necessary. But then again, from a different point of view, Skyblock is already dying, so why not try? Like others have said, Skyblock doesn't really need to be reset, but it needs to be revamped.
