I do find this term offensive because I myself have very close family members that are Gay. It seems to some people that saying these types of words is not harmful, if you truly think about it really is hurtful.

Let me share a personal experience with you. . . When I was 16 and my little brother was only 14 and just starting to come out of the closet. . mind you this was in the late 90's and coming out was still a little iffy. He was punished by our school principle and he was de-pantsed in front of the whole school and the principle stated that, "F****** had no place in this high school. I had to take action and I knocked out the principle and I was expelled from school. My little brother had to drop out due to this incident because after this happened my little brother was badly beaten by some kids that did not like the fact that they had a "f***** in their school. He spent a week in the hospital due to his severe injuries. So you can see why I take offense to these types of terms. So in regards to this term I will kick anyone who does use this word. It is truly offensive and it hurts people even some people do not think of it that way. We are a successful server and we want to show the new players that this is a clean and safe place to play and they should not have to worry about people calling other people derogatory names.

And it's no longer the 1990s. The word is rarely, if at all, used in a derogatory manner in this day and age. You come from a different time period, I respect that. However nowadays, homosexuality is more widely accepted, kids aren't as sheltered and fragile, and words that might've been terribly offensive thirty years ago no longer are. When I came out to my school, and mind you it's a Catholic school, there were rumors about me for a week, and after that no one spoke of it. My popularity status, studies, and relationship with the school did not change at all. The entire faculty knows I'm gay and they don't care. I've had people call me a dyke, and a f*****. All I had to do was shrug it off. Grow a thicker skin, and more importantly: grow up.

Please don't disrespect me. I am a grown up with a child for that matter. I myself was raised Catholic and I support others and their beliefs, I still believe that this word is a kickable offense and I will not change my mind. In all reality in some countries being Gay is not accepted. Also there are a lot of kids out there that do have a sheltered life and they are fragile. . so I truly and totally disagree with your statement.

I find it absolutely hilarious that a supposedly mature adult who thinks my opinion is "disrespectful" and then proceeds to rate it rude. Using the word f***** is not a kickable offense unless used to directly offend someone. You being indirectly offended for a word that doesn't affect you, not your brother, is ridiculous. People don't use "f*****" to offend someone, and gays aren't offended by it. Just like how black people aren't offended when they call each other "n****." Times have changed, and so should your opinions.

To tell you the truth, your post is really rude. For one thing you tell me to grow up, and to be all honest the word F****is a kickable offense because of the fact it is still derogatory and very hurtful.

And I disagree with that. I'm gay, I've been called it, my friends call me it, and I've never had a problem with it. It's not a kickable offense if not used to offend. And I was wrong. You don't need to grow up, especially since most of the Skyblock community and it's gay members are just a third of your age. You need to stop seeing things from a 1900's perspective and step into the twenty first century.

Just because a word is commonly used doesn't mean you should use it or it's ok to use. You may not take offence, but others might. Being able to be mature is something people look for in a mod, which you recently applied for, and you are not exemplifying that right now. Please also take notice
    Thank you

I reopened this thread, as it has some serious potential. However, I'll be running through the thread and clearing all unnecessary posts and any posts that could cause an argument.

I'm gay, I'm sure everyone and their cat knows this, and I don't see how the term is actually offensive. Every term that describes gay people applies to me. I'm gay, a fag, a f*****, etc. and I'll never be offended by what I am, as that's rather silly, isn't it? It's like me calling you straight and it offending you. It makes very little sense.

Back to the discussion. Is saying the word 'f*****' or 'fgt' kick worthy? Yes, however it depends on the circumstances. Were you warned via private message to stop using the word? A kick with a warn message is not acceptable as it defeats the purpose of a warning and then a kick.

'f*****' is a derogatory word, no matter in what context it's used, besides if we look at a pile of sticks and call them by the archaic term they were given, which of course, is f*****. Perhaps in the future you may want to tone it down, as 'fgt' is the same as 'f*****' it's the same as 'fck' equaling 'f***', it's just shortened into text speech.

I agree with the fact that fgt is not an Insult, as being one is not seen todayas it once was. But using it as an Insult downgrades it to an Insult. So saying fgt to someone in disrespect or just for kidding implies that you think that a fgt is a lesser being. It might not be insulting for the one this is said at, providing he has be thick Skin, but it's insulting for the gay, that's a fact.

Methaphoric comparison: saying to someone "you're just an irish" with disdain. Well, what's the Point of being an irish? I would wave it away and don't care. However this is basically saying the irishs are lesser being, for they fulfill the purpose of insulting others by calling them this way.

I understand if some don't see the Point because they don't feel this is insulting. The fact that the one who is insulted is not present at the Moment or not even aimed at doesn't mean it's not an Insult.

Thanks for repopening this thread, because I do think that it needs to take place. Like you said, I don't think you should be kicked without a warning, which is the big problem I had with what happened in my scenario, because I was kicked and muted without being told why and if it offended anyone.

Imo, if a rule is going to be made I want to see it enforced in its entirety or dropped completely. Its not necessarily what is said, but whats implied.
If someone were to say f***** and get in trouble for it, then someone who says fgt, which is only a shortened version, should be as well.
