Sand and gravel generators: Are they legal?

Crew's old verdict on the sand dupe was for the glitch that only worked on sand and gravel. Any form of duplication now should be considered illegal as it would be done a way that could cause any item to be duplicated, (except the rail dupe but that's illegal as well).
That's why the thread on sand gens is archived... That form of duplication is no longer viable.
