After studying the drop rates of items in the nether and testing about 1,000 voter crate keys to reveal the probable chances of receiving each reward, I've turned my attention to a relatively new feature on this server which is the random generation of coal, iron, gold, lapis, and redstone ore when either stone or cobble forms. This was a really easy process to set up. I simply let both of my stone generators fill to their capacity of 1,728 blocks and then harvested the lot, recording how many of each ore was yielded before allowing the generation of stone to continue. To get a good sample size, I harvested 55,296 total blocks. Below are the results: In summary, it looks like Iron, Redstone, and Gold ores are about equally likely to spawn and Lapis just slightly more. Averaged, the four colorful minerals are very close to 0.03% chance to spawn and it could be possible that they are intended to have equal chances to generate. Coal is quite common in comparison and you can expect to be seeing coal almost 6x more than the other ores combined. Well, now we know! Happy Skyblocking!
