Sorry on this late response, lots of work to do and I was tired

This will be your multi-step process of getting into what I consider the best kind of music: Rock and Roll.

Step 1. Listen to the staple songs of Rock.
Here's your Hotel California, Wish You Were Here, Stairway to Heaven, Hey Jude, and some others you can probably think of off the top of your head.

Step 2. Listen to the big name bands of Rock.
You've heard big name songs, but you can now invest yourself in the bands themselves. If you have Spotify, I would recommend using it for the following bands: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Creedence Clear Water Revival, Black Sabbath, Gun's N' Roses, Nirvana, Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, The Doors and if you are using Spotify, go ahead and click that "Related Artists" button and check out some others as well.

Step 3. Listen to the different Era's of Rock and listen to the difference.
You can now listen to the different era's of rock and listen to the change. I won't be including the 50's as I don't think I can give you a good list. A lot of these can pertain to other era's but I put them where I thought they fit well.
    I would suggest these bands
60's: Johnny Cash, The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Simon and Garfunkel, The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley (Couldn't get him in the 50's), The Animals,
70's: Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin (Both of those 2 apply to the 60's as well), America, Creedence Clear Water Revival, Rod Stewart, Elton John, David Bowie, The Eagles.
80's: Gun's N Roses, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, Van Halen, Foreigner, Queen, and U2
90's: Blind Melon, Radiohead, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, REM, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, Oasis, Green Day, Soundgarden,
00's: The White Stripes, Nickelback, Kings of Leon, 3 Doors Down, Audioslave, Linkin Park, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver, The Killers.
10's: Cage The Elephant, Muse, Imagine Dragons, Hozier, Moon Taxi, The Black Keys, The Arctic Monkeys, The Alabama Shakes.

At this point you should be able to formulate a good idea of what you like. From then if you wish to continue, start a conversation with me and if you want you can also talk to people I consider well-versed in this type of music such as Cheesy or Syndicade

    Ok, there you go!

Of course I did, you can't list them all here. I gave her ones I thought would give her the right idea of where to go and left it open ended to let her pm me if she liked what she was listening to.
