In the original mob arena I saw quite a few people standing motionless in the middle with their mains running around attracting aggro away to kite
not only this but nowadays with clients there's bot systems (quite frequent in a bunch of public clients, like meteor with its "Swarm" function) which allows players to control a bunch of instances from 1 client. Can just enable killaura on all those "bots" and have them follow one player, or have them independent, etc etc. People used to do this with bot managers like OQMineBot (it used to be a lot more expensive than it is now due to it being one of the only mods/clients that allowed this to happen, and even more so by being able to use proxies, utilizing headless clients, ie no graphics), a good example of this is when someone farmed about 80 of the Pumpkin Baskets during the 2018 Halloween hunt (ie the first hunt that was held).
Yeah like the guys above mention, even back then people used to afk in the arena and reap the rewards, with alts they can get the minimum number to start the arena and just leave them on with kill aura. I just don’t think something with unlimited farmable currency like arena gems should have any ingame equivalent values or trades other than player heads and cosmetics.
They could always limit how much of x items you could purchase daily/weekly(and per IP)? It wouldn't stop botting, but surely wouldn't leave mob arena redundant and dead on the first week of release... I'm not sure what they're planning for the rewards, but if we only getting heads out of it, it wouldn't be interesting for people in the long term.
3 per player per day, 5 per IP per day, max 7 per week would all be decent limits for long term farming. Because sometimes big groups of players run multiple rounds in a row. Issue is proxies. Players can just utilise proxies upon connecting to the server to change their connecting IP address circumventing limits. On top of that, implementing a limit on rewards would be unfair to players who will eventually continually and frequently play the minigame, similar to how people would play back in 2018 or 19 before it was disabled. Groups of players running 5/10 rounds in a row and getting 5-10 of their heads and/or netherstars. I truly wonder how this update will affect the nether star economy...
I'm still holding out hope for a March release. One question tho guys: So I wasn't active when mob arena existed so can someone give me a brief description of what it was?
Ok so the old mob arena was multiple rounds of mobs everyone has to fight together, with each round becoming increasingly difficult. There were also different kits you could choose. The only kit I specifically remember was the healer but that’s bc that was the kit I always chose Also can we please get an update on what’s going on with this?? Bro gave us the biggest news in Skyblock in years and disappeared
They removed friends from the store a few years ago, they're technically unobtainable now which makes them a new type of rare.
