So I've seen a few shops and a couple have magma blocks for sale. I find it off because when I go into the nether and mine netherrack, it doesn't let me mine magma blocks? Like it says I can't mine that item? So in a way I have two questions and I need help here. 1. How did people get magma blocks in the first place especially in bulk? 2. Why can't we mine them in the nether?
Oh dear... Why on earth did that not come to mind? Didn't even know the things were craftable. Now I'm just not sure why they can't be mined in the nether
Magma blocks have a vanilla recipe of 4 magma creams in a square. From what I've heard magma blocks in the nether could be used for player killing hence mining it got disabled.
There's a PVP command, so if both players did /pvp they could fight in the nether anyway, no? If not then clearly I'm wrong aha I just would have thought (and especially now I know we can craft them anyway) they'd be ok? Hmm.
Any player can take damage from magma blocks in the nether regardless of who placed them down. It's not specifically used for killing people but the use of the item can be used to troll others that are in the nether. I'm not sure if crafted magma blocks can be placed in the nether but I assume they can't.
Just kill magma cubes to get magma cream. Then use 4 magma cream in a 2x2 format to create a magma block.
Okay so while some things may not make sense for one of my questions, I do have a general idea of answers thanks to the help of kind people coming in to answer the best they can! Magma blocks aren't something I'm really looking for but I was curious when I couldn't even break them, yet people were selling them!
