A public list that entails what each block is worth in terms of island level.

 

In this case (the case that the value of any given block changes worth depending on how many of the same block are placed on the same island), the list would be of the block's base level (as you suggested) and then we could be given whatever formula calculates how much the block's value decreases.

 

OMG the unpredictable island level algorithm which makes posting accurate block level worth impossible... or is it a formula which you could also include in the list of base level blocks........????

 

ngl concrete is remarkably low, i have so much placed and my is level is like 1400 in eco, it makes me sad that people w basically just cobble out level me

 

My stonebricks alone almost double your entire island

 

in eco concrete is so expensive 1200 per sand and 150 per gravel so 1350 x 2 +dye cost = 4 color concrete so 675 at least if u ignore dye for a block u also gotta place then mine, and stone gives more

 

Yeah I agree with this, I also think that some 1.19 blocks aren't even included in the algorithm.

I've placed about a single chest of amethyst blocks, and my level didn't increase at all, which leads me to believe they were overlooked in the update.

 

Really??? Any idea when such an algorithm was implemented?

I spec'd out an algorithm exactly like that with Lee back in 2019. It was based on the popular TF/IDF algorithm, used in pretty much every search engine.

I got whacked by real life before I could be involved in its implementation though.

Could we not just have an api endpoint for the current value with fairly low (low as in 1 request after 10 minutes or something) ratelimit and then people can make sites to view it?

 

The block type worth isn't fix and we won't make the algo public.
