Highlighted names [UPDATED]

I mean yes, I like how it goes off their IGN, if it didn't I would hear a beep so often because my nickname is Emerald and people use that term differently. I'm neutral. It would be annoying, but I don't see player's messages if I'm checking a forums for a moment.

 

Yea, but I believe your IGN is Emerald_x, is it not? Unless you have a very OG name that everyone uses on a daily basis, it won't be annoying. But they'd have to specify your exact IGN for it to go off.

Along with that, whenever someone says "mod", shouldn't all the mods be alerted, just so the player gets some kind of help and doesn't spam?

Anywho, it'd be pretty cool to see it on here I suppose

A server, h******, has a base of 50k+ players and they have this..

 

What a surprise, turned an innocent suggestion to an attack on the mods

I support. There are also mods (modifications, not moderator) that do this as well, such as 5zig. I use 5zig to have my name highlighted in the chat and also be notified when it's mentioned. The notification part doesn't work properly, though. I can't actually be notified outside of Minecraft while AFK, which stinks since it would be really convenient. I played on a server before that had a plugin which would ding if your name was mentioned while afk; I'd love that here.

 

Thank you. I don't think it would be too convenient if every staff member had to install that just to be notified. So this would be useful.
