───── Halloween Drop Party '24 ───── Ahead of our Halloween Drop Party, we are excited to welcome the community shortlist voting process! ━━━━━━━━━━━☟━━━━━━━━━━━ Here's the process:1. All of the heads have be reviewed to ensure they are appropriate and that there is no copies of existing heads. ➣Staff and players now have the ability to vote on all heads at the same time. ➣There are two separate forms just so that it’s easy to keep track of (one for staff and one for players). ➣The form includes the head names for all 33 entries. 2. You can vote on your FAVOURITE 10 from this list. 3. The Top 10 most voted heads from this form will then contribute to 50% of the shortlist. ➣We are aware that there may be some overlap between the forms which is fine, we will account for this accordingly. 4. This final shortlist will then be voted on by players and staff on the same form to get our 5 Drop Party heads + Hunt Head. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Information: As you can tell, we've moved the Original Head Competition entry thread into the archives to remove any bias or favouritism. When voting closes we will move the thread back to where it belongs and announce the winners! Deadline to vote: Friday 18th October 2024 @ 5pm EST Link to the form: Head Voting - Halloween 2024 Please try to avoid discussing your votes with one another and please do not vote for anymore than 10 heads. Please note: all votes are anonymous. Google may ask you to sign in: this data is not collected by us and is kept completely private. Results will be kept private to be announced at the DP. Please do NOT vote for anymore than 10 HEADS! Anyone who has voted for more than 10 will have ALL of their votes removed. This can and will be checked. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Do not vote for Ghostly Grimoire as it is downloaded from Minecraft Heads. The only thing changed is that there is no skull on top. Thank you.
52Phenomenon could I please withdraw my submission (#29, Autumnal Skyblock). I didn't realise there was a similar submission (#6) already entered, this is my mistake for not checking the thread properly! Good luck to all!
52 is rather busy organising these and may have missed it! I’ll pass it along to her. If the head is deemed as a copy, the votes will be voided.
Except that more than half of these would also appear to be already designed heads that have just been changed by a few pixels. Apparently that's fine to do. I still like the books, so I'll be voting for those
Hello, as I replied on discord your message was seen. Let me briefly explain the course of action, or rather lack of it. In past competitions certain head entries were voided due to complaints of them being very similar to online designs. This led to big fallouts relating to multiple complaints piling up of certain entries being based on/started from online designs, and then being edited from varying degrees of minor pixel changes to complete overhauls of the entire design. Following this, the distinction between players 'stealing' ideas and players simply using basic heads as a starter template to design on top of became extremely blurred and difficult to monitor, especially when other complains began to come up that accused players of stolen ideas, but they could prove that this was coincidence and their idea was indeed made from scratch. This led to a clarification of the rule that while yes, heads should be made from scratch where possible, it is impossible to stop all entries from using basic designs found online as a way to start their ideas. For example, any heads that use Steve as a base to build upon (a zombie type design is an example that springs to mind). For the reasons outlined here the head you complained about was not excluded from the contest. I hope this clarification was useful to you and anyone else reading. In other news, voting closes tonight! Final chance to have your say
