I think if casinos were to be banned outright they should have been banned years ago when they were just coming to fruition. Banning them outright now would not go down well with the community.

There's plenty of gambling games that also don't require spending real money. My point was, if you don't see the value of Skyblock beyond being able to play casinos, then in my opinion you don't actually like Skyblock.

That's a fair take. And like I said, my opinion on banning them is neutral, I really don't care. But just because something has been allowed for a long time doesn't mean it can't be bad. Age isn't a justification for something being good (see: any bad societal norm from history), it has to have merit on its own. In the case of gambling on Skyblock I won't argue whether it should be banned or not, but I will argue that any argument for or against it should be based on real points and not 'tradition'.

The tone of your original message is that without gambling the server loses a significant portion of what there is to do. I know you listed a few other possible things, but that did not seem to be the intention of the message. Rather it seemed your argument was Noobcrew could never possibly remove gambling because it will leave little to do. I wholeheartedly disagree with that notion.

That may not have been your point, but I can only debate on what I can read, not the thoughts in your head.

also, I have a positive rating? awesome! I thought this whole place was completely aligned with exposing gambling to children.

 

you can ask anyone, I earned about a dc of grass in my first few months, because I just grinded and worked super hard, granted I don't play as much as I did, but yes if two people put in equivalent work AND one donated to the server the donor will get more results, but you can always outwork the other person Skyblock is not p2w, there isn't even a clear goal. make a good island? get grass? get dp heads? there are so many ways to play and money doesn't really give you a direct advantage because you also have to put in the time. since you can just play casually and not have to interact with people and fight them then you can survive as a f2p player completely fine, and accomplish your goals as well. Plus, the server gives away FREE gift cards every month

but there's more to it than simply "if there is a clear goal or not" an such. its the effect something like a loot crate or in-game casino has on a kid. Imagine a kid spends their birthday money or something on a loot crate key and they happen to get 64x cobble instead of the thing they were really hoping for - or the better reward right next to it? Then theres the whole, "arg just one more more roll, surely ill get it this time"

and also, it should be said that the whole "you can technically grind up everything a p2w player has completely f2p in mere months" is such a nothing-burger. And that is a justification I see MANY players with ranks make to feel less guilty about their bought privilege, instead of just acknowledging that they bought a privilege.

i never rate abused. idk i never lost my privileges to rate things. I just figured out how to rate and started filling in where I left off. and Hc was being very rude.
