Today I came on .net to talk to a few people after the holiday DP. I was talking to this fish guy when MusicCentral says in chat "Selling Espin's Virginity HB: 0." After she does this a few times I ask her to stop, as it is a bannable offense on our skyblock.org server to auction something with an inappropriate name. She responded quite rudely, thinking if a mod didn't tell her to stop, that it was okay. In the span of around 10 minutes that I was on the .net server: Desirability had a conversation about asking for nudes with shadowdragon, and if anyone had any photos they should send them to Des's kik, People decided to talk about their "sticks" like they were male genitals, and they were comparing "stick" lengths, and this instance with MusicCentral occured. I know for a fact that there were 3 moderators online, and not one talked Music about this incident. As I do not have access to /seen, I do not know if Shadow and Des were kicked for their actions, but it is obvious that neither were muted or had remorse for their actions. After talking to Music, I learned that this is a common occurrence on the .net server, and it is all just fun and games. If this is really a common occurrence, I seriously doubt that the server can maintain its "g" rating.
Also, if any or the following events were to happen on the skyblock.org, or the old Hellblock server, I can guarantee that the players would have been banned or at least muted for a good amount of time. Now for those of you that say "it's a larger server, of course there will be more rule breakers". Does it mean that the mods can't do anything? I know the .net mods are always busy, but could they really not even at least mute the players?
One last thing to point out. All of the above people mentioned are donors. If a Greenbean was asking for nudes in chat like Des was, do you really think he would have gotten off without a warning? For most people in chat, they knew Des was kidding, but imagine if a new person to the server saw the skygod asking for nudes in public chat, and gave them a place to send photos; do you really assume that the new kid would know he was kidding? What if some little kid did send photos to Des as a joke? Child pornography is highly illegal in many countries, and you can end up in jail for it.
PS. For all of you thinking this is a thread to hate on the mods; I love our mods. Being a former part of the staff team, I still keep in touch with a few and I consider most of them to still be my friends. I'm making this thread so it can be fixed not to get mods demoted. Notice how I didn't even say which moderators were online? I don't care what kind of hate I get for making this; it needs to be fixed

    I agree
All mods are great and they're probably dealing with bans and other stuff, so people should try to be more appropriate. Anyone who influences some new skyblocker, with the nub thinking it's okay, would just get the nub banned.
We also need some new mods, because at certain times there are no mods online, and the fake messaging and inappropriateness gets HUGE, I usually come telling them to be appropriate.

Stop doing things that you know are wrong. Just because a mod doesn't point it out, it doesn't mean anything. For all you know, they could be afk dealing with ANOTHER inapropriate message.

I don't want to turn this into a flame war with the player. This is a bigger issue that one person.

Some people don't know how to take a joke do they. And to be fair I didn't respond to your message "rudely" I simply said that none of the Mods online seemed to have a problem with it. Stuff like this happens in the chat all the time, and kids these days KNOW these words.Lighten up for god sake.

Usually I would kick people for being inappropriate but I think certain things I would let pass because its more suggestive and I guess its when people outright get inappropriate its time to really start with the kick warnings. Usually I find a verbal warning to tone it down suffices. As for the auctions finding the best way to tackle this would probably to stop people from auctioning inappropriate things.
If I dont get to the kick in time, I would have to use verbal warnings.
I understand the concern and it would be nice to have people acting a little more mature and responsible to the younger members.

Why are people taking so much offence to this? Seriously. In my enderchest I have several stacks of inappropriately named items which I have both made or bought from people. They are named: Period, Dildo, Noobcrew's blood, Kush, Marijuana, Very sticky soap and Cocaine. Yes some of these are inappropriate, but with everything that has happened to the server, I am starting to find it very boring now, and things like this just make it all the more fun and exciting, to see what else will come out. It's not that big a deal. Yes the server is G rated, but a very well-known saying is "if you dont like it, build a bridge and get over it". just block the player. if anybody doesn't like what they are saying, they will block them as well.

On another note, I have never been warned or kicked from selling/auctioning things that have crude names, and many people, to the contraire, actually want to buy it, so I see no problem.

Music, honestly you're extremely stubborn if someone says they are uncomptorable with something, don't do it. Even if a mod doesnt tell you, don't do it.

Also, to add to my points, I doubt a greeny would be punished either, as i have noticed they aren't being noticed a lot, and get away with a lot of things us donors cant, so dont use them as a scapegoat to penalise the higher people.

And to further my points more, I occasionally have 'rude parties' (actually what it is named) where i have twerking poles, dildo sticks that people 'use' and some strippers (people slowly take of their armour in return for cocaine or marijuana. If i haven't been punished for this ever before, i don't see why people should be punished for saying things in chat.

This was my point of my thread the other day. I think that it needs to be more definitive as to how Noob wants his server ran. IF he wants it ran as a G rated server then it needs to be ran that way and its not. Let me state I have ZERO issue with any mod. Dewmellon, Lycel, Larry, Krissy, IPod, Demon, Deku, Roblox, I know I'm forgetting some(sorry its Christmas Eve and I'm at a friends having an adult beverage or two) but I think do a darn good job. But ill ask this question... Do they know how the server is exactly to be ran? Is it a zero tolerance G rated server, a "we claim to be g rated", a friends first server? Again the question I asked the other day. How does Noob really want his server ran? Another thing I really found surprising is the average age of the mods. Again they have all impressed me. It's actually kinda cute to see these children moderating "How can I know I can trust you?" Btw i think these kids moderating will benefit them in the future. But with that said most of the mods are around 14, I realize the reason for this is kids are more readily available to spend the time and are the majority of the community. But is it fair to ask an impressionable youth to stay on point with the server creed? I dint think it's completely fair. How do you fix this? Idk to be honest. More defined rules for the skygods and higher ranks. A three strike rule and you are gone perhaps. If they feel I can't be perms banned then why worry about being mature?

End result. Are the mods given the proper tools and knowledge to do their job the best way possible? Are the rules set in place so that a mod can ban even a friend and they could say to to their friend "Sorry you knew the rules" abolishing guilt and blame to said mod. Anyways done with my rant.. Gonna go eat and enjoy my night. Love u all

If you get too rude in chat you will be warned by a mod. Not all people take kindly to crude humor and are not expected to like it just because the majority have no issue with it. The server isnt really G but we have to keep it close to.
There is no arguments you can make to change the fact that if what you say or do is deemed inappropriate by a mod then you will be punished in the way seen fit, donor or non donor. So either clean up your act or expect to be punished.
I will lock this if any fights break out.

Mods are biased toward donors, especially higher level donors. Especially Cypriot. Think about how many times Shadow has been banned for "vulgarity" or "extreme vulgarity". And soon unbanned. Or Bat, and his doxing and DDosing stunts. Skyblock.net is a bigger server, and mods may not see all that "innappropriate" behavior. And also, I don't believe in making things G-rated. Most people who play minecraft are at least 10. Those who aren't, shouldn't be on a multiplayer server. If you are 10+ and you don't understand, well, you domt understand. There. You're gonna learn sooner or later, and it's better, and easier soon

Still doesn't excuse some of the vulgarity
