Support. I can't stand people posting dumb s*** and in the end locking it. Its a waste of cyber space.

Ratings that imply something offensive or rude should not be on the forums, let alone adding more. It's easy and anonymous ways of being cruel to others that causes so much hate (especially on the internet) in the first place. How about we create a reasoned discussion as to why the post wasn't sensible? Or perhaps we could mature enough to decide that retaliating to an unreasonable post isn't worth it? If you think something is dumb, I'd hope you have enough reasoning to think so that a simple "dumb" rating does not cover your opinion.

I'm not sure if any of you people on here have ever done psychology, but negative/positive reinforcement is a far better way of shaping behaviour than punishment. A rude rating is punishment; a kind rating is positive reinforcement. Personally, I would get rid of all of the negative ratings and just leave the positive ones. That opinion might get this post a few disagree ratings, but really, from a psychological standpoint and from one looking to reduce the amount of drama and hate on the forums, it would probably work well.

I would never ever support a way to be mean to others: whether or not this rating counts as negative or neutral, getting an alert saying someone rated your post dumb would be hurtful to some people, especially if they poured their heart into that comment.
