Sometimes a few seconds after I logged in I notice that someone has my nick, I get really pissed from these things.

Support indeed. Nick abuse on Net alone causes a lot of confusion for me, since I don't have the /realname command as of yet.

 

that really is something else to address - everybody should have /realname

 

Yea only problem I really see is the inability to /nick to someone elses name. In theory this is good but then again this allows people to just occupy your nick while you've temporarily changed to something like "AFKSheicoh" in my instance. Once you've changed they can just quickly take it with like an alt and just stick with it however long they desire. Other than that, Support! xP

 

Yep, it's a feature on org and it helps with reporting Nick abusers, I don't see a reason to halt the rights on Net

Support! Since I have someone as a Skype contact, My Skype name is my real name.. And someone was using /nick pretending to be me.... They /nicked to "Brandon"... (My real name) They were saying loads of things that were offensive towards me....

That'd be one hell of a log, too much to worry about, aka not worth the time/space on the dedi.

It already can't be someones IGN who's on /seen properly, nor can it match a nick to its exactness. Only colored nicks bypass it, and different prefixes apply to a different name.

 

1- Pretty sure there's no cool down, I changed my nick like 4 times in under a minute a few weeks back

2- Reset it every 24/48 hours? Not like we're gonna need them for much longer

3- This I can't argue with

 

1. I wasn't implying there was a cooldown on nick already, only a plugin in place for command cooldowns.
2. Resetting logs would be manual labor, and if it's automatic, more computing power taken from the server.
