The economy is so messed up that I really wouldn't care if we got a reset be that a full reset or just a bal wipe. However if this is done we need a full rework on sell prices. Manual farmed items need to have a lot higher selling price than auto farmable items, this will make player be rewarded for being active. The server could also implement a "player determine shop". Not sure if the plugin will work with the current server version but how this plugin works is that the more an item is bought form the shop the more expensive it gets and the more it's sold the less expensive it gets. So it kinda regulates supply demand. This would help create a more diverse supply of things to be sold but there is also cons to this, such as dirt. Dirt can only be bought so the price would have to be capped or it would go through the roof. What I think needs to more rewarding tho is selling to other players reather than selling back to shop. The main thing that needs to be fixed first is the selling prices they make 0 sense currently.
We’ve been doing all this for 9 months so far. There isn’t much more to say on it from a player perspective. Yes these threads are here for players to suggest and discuss changes but the final step in the process is for staff to implement or deny. Usually after some staff consideration and input. You ask players for their input and game suggestions. We would greatly appreciate some acknowledgment from staff when we make them.
Drogo is not keen on a reset. Drogo was well aware of what crophoppers would do do to this server and he opposed them initially. If you add something that is the easiest source of huge income, people are going to take it. As this was the obvious way the server was going, Drogo went with it. The server just needs to add more items that can be sold at equivalent prices. Prices set with the goal of ensuring that time and effort are rewarded equally. /warp shop has sat for too long with more than half the stalls empty. It looks like a project someone started on and just gave up. It's depressing.
Fax. All we truly need if a rework in sell prices and higher ups that actually do something for the server. There has been so many little things that have sat broken for so long that would be fixed in 2mins if someone cared to fix it. If these little problems sit unfixed for to long (like terrible sell prices) bigger problems will start. All of this could have been fixed if sell prices where updated when the cropper came out. They also don't have to do all of the prices at once. Fix the prices that are downright horrible first then fix the more complicated ones later.
I am anti-reset, however I agree the economy is currently in shambles... ultimately the best way to solve this overtime is to look to the real world, we need inflation. To reduce the value of the skybuck, reduce purchasing power by evaluating and significantly increasing all /shop prices to encourage player farming and trading, all crop sell prices need to be reviewed with some significant increases to the prices (with the exception of pumpkins and melons) I total reset will lose alot more for people than farms and balances.... people with huge rare collections, maparts, islands they've worked hard on, saying sure we can bring some over completely defeats the purpose of balance. Say you guys argue to bring over only drop party rares etc. That leaves some players with massive fortunes worth in items, and players who don't collect, but rather have other value, or islands etc with nothing. If there were a total reset. The only acceptable transfers should be ranks, kits and island expansions. But the issue is much easier to solve than that, so I don't really think it should be looked at. I'd love for a decision to be made using research, I get this is a fictional world in a video game, but the economics of it all still apply surprisingly well, the only difference being /shop as an infinite buy/sell at set prices Remember inflation is healthy, and completely normal at a set rate, we are just not used to seeing it increasing so fast, and we can act to make a healthy economy with what we already have TLDR - Increase all crop sell prices, in particular at /warp shop but with the exception of pumpkins/melons - Increase the cost of most items in /shop with a thorough evaluation
100% agree all we need are weekly or monthly updates that adjust sell and buy prices to match the economy. With more money being made the less it should be worth.
I see no need for a reset because inflation is inevitable in any economy server. It would be pretty devastating to lose islands/collections etc. after only a few years after the most recent reset. What needs to be done is an overhaul of all crop prices and a form of money-dump where those who have a lot of Skybucks can prestige/level up/purchase something ingame that takes money out of the economy. The current issue is millions are being generated every day and the money stays.
A reset is not an option given the server is advertised stating "No server resets" People have paid cash money for many of the items they have here so removal of those would be almost criminal.
Yeah, they could always just pull a classic, where they keep the old server but release a new. Would much rather see the server be fix instead of killed tho
I am currently working on a complete analysis of all /warp shop and /sell prices for crops and will be sharing my thoughts here later today.
Hello everyone! BeensMC and I have been working hard to create a 7-page long comprehensive analysis of item prices. We would love your thoughts and input. The attached link is for the word document we have written everything on. If you would like to make suggestions/edits, please message either MorayEel#0001 or Beens#3302 on discord. Skyblock Economy Prices Overhaul - 2022 - Google Docs *Please note this is a rough draft.
Good list, however I feel that most items should get a higher increase in price due to the fact that pumpkins are still way to easy to get. Even tho some items should not as high we need them to be raised in order to make people actually want to farm them instead of sticking to pumpkins and melons.
Good note. We would like to be reasonable with the increases in sell prices because the higher the prices we suggest, the lower the likelihood of them actually being implemented.
I don't believe any hostile mob drop price increases should be implemented with the current tps situation as itll encourage water mob farms. Once that is sorted it may be more considerable I also am against the reduction of any prices in /warp shop as it only benefits players who have already been made stupid rich selling, reducing prices will not reduce their balance, just reduce the balance of players to come. The best way to even out the economy is to bring all other farmable items to a fair price. Especially items that are labour intensive, items such as mushroom which farm in small amounts, the increases should be significant. Anything that takes crafting like bread, or smelting etc should be considerably higher. Pumpkins take no processing, farm afk fast and sell high. But for some reason everything harder to obtain or process is priced considerably bad in comparison and this needs an over haul
To be fair those farms dont produce that much lag. Instead of banning them they should solve the lag issue. I know with paper there is a way to make water updates less lacing in one of the files. Fix the issue > ban the issue
One thing that Needs to be kept in mind when considering the sell price of pumpkins and melons is the initial set up cost. A maxed farm costs over 66 million bucks in dirt alone. Additional for lighting. Plus the huge amount of time it takes to build such a farm. Drogo would like to see building materials like wool, logs, stone, ores, etc. sellable at /warp shop with an increase in there value.
I agree with this, an increase in building material costs, including the sell prices at /warp shop but also the cost to purchase them in /shop, to encourage players to sell the materials to other players in their own shops. We used to see many players selling materials like logs, wool etc, but that has dwindled due to the effort it takes to collect, and the cheap price people can have it for in /shop
