yeah that persons graphics card died i just sent an offer for a 1070 (8gb) for 280. my budget increased to 300 total, but i have to work shipping and tax into it

Stress test (assuming you already have a PC you can install the 1060 into), better to find out now than later the limits of the GPU as well as adjust the voltage/clock speed and/or fan speed if the temps are not what you are comfortable with. That is assuming you are going to keep the card long-term, but if you are going use only short-term and resell in a couple months, then temps do not matter too much.

I took apart my current rig so I could redo the cables and get the cable for the gcard ready, and make sure I have enough power in my power supply, but its 550 watts so it should be fine. One downside - with my current mobo I can't overclock. Yeah, im sad about it too. At least I can overclock my monitor and ram, but overclocking ram is a pain. Edit: can anyone help me a bit with overclocking ram? I'm not good at it. I got it from 2666 to like, almost 3000, and it worked until i bluescreened a while later
you want at most 1.45v, id stick with 1.4 volts. put it at 2933 mhz and run a memory stress test overnight. if you aren't bluescreened, up the mhz and try again. if it bluescreens, up the voltage (max 1.4) and repeat. Keep in mind voltages above 1.35 will shorten your RAM's lifetime a little bit, and above 1.45 you run a risk of ram overheating or causing serious issues. The real money is in GPU and CPU overclocking. GPU tweak II is great, if you post a screenshot of the advanced mode (all sliders - may take more than 1 screenshot) I can give you some advice. The settings vary from SKU to SKU

have you turned on the power supply, attached the motherboard power correctly, ensured that you connected the GPU to the monitor, made sure that the GPU fans are spinning?
CMOS battery out, letting stay out for 30 min instead of the 10 seconds I gave it earlier it won’t boot without the graphics card even though it has integrated graphics
