Almost everytime I go on Tumblr, I see at least one post discriminating straight people. Sometimes gay pride is taken too strongly, to where instead of being seen as equal, it's seen as superior.

That's because Tumblr is a gaping dark hole of despair.

This is honestly a little far for a forum. We get it, there are homosexual pride things everywhere. Don't get me wrong, I do get hate for my sexuality but oh well. Shake it off, get up and try anew. Who cares what everyone else thinks?

besides, you got called gay and everyone gets called gay everyday. It's no big deal and there wasn't really a need for a thread on it.

While "gay" is (now) a socially acceptable term and often used for self-identification, the term "f**" is downright offensive and is considered a slur, as it is short for "f*****." For many gay people, hearing someone call them a "f**" is more offensive than being called "gay".

    This is just my opinion.

Yes, we know, that's why you're saying it, no need to specify. ._>

World's full of 'em, but I'd like an elaboration please? Just for argument's sake ;P

... I'm not saying it offends me but it does offend people who can't handle it and then the people who can't handle it do bad things because of the fact they were called gay.
That was confusing even for me to write this.
i think it is just how society is set up in this generation. It's not you personally that does it, it's the generation

    "In this generation" lol...
This has been a problem since the beginning of time, or at least according to the Bible.
It's not the generation, it's the whole world that's been corrupted

Well yes it has been but it wasn't a joke you would say to friends then it would be a harsh word that no one says to straight people. Now it's just a way of jokingly offending people

I saw a commercial the other day from the US Government regarding that "drinking" and "cigarette" stuff, and saw something about, "Don't call people gay, they get offended."
I'm literally shaking my head because. Yeah. Not gonna get into it lol

Should I just close this thread? It is causing too much attention. Not the best thing for a new member to do...

You can call a straight person straight but cant call a gay person gay? You can call a white person white but cant call a black person black? I dont understand

What Darth said below. It's also the double standards. A gay person can have gay/transgender pride, but a straight person can't? Blacks can advocate for black pride, but a white person showing white pride would be called racist, etc.

Personally, I'd let it continue unless unecessary arguments arise, but for now I'd let it be. It's your call though.
