Diamonds: What are they used for and how are they obtained?

Hello! I’ve made this type of guide before, but for the server now known as /classic. This is the updated version for the new server - /Skyblock.

This guide was made in mind for the newer players in our community.

    How can diamonds be attained?

Player Upgrades – Many players who cannot donate will resort to trading in-game items for an upgrade. Currently the conversion rate of diamonds to USD is about 10-12 diamonds to $1. This is a cheaper method of obtaining diamonds rather than purchasing them directly through the buycraft store, and it benefits both the server and another player at the same time.

If you’re worried about doing these sorts of trades, that’s understandable – feel free to summon a mod or a higher member of staff to watch over the trade, or conduct it using /invsee.

Donating or Donor kits – When you donate, you will get perks back in return. One of these perks is a kit, correlating in worth with the amount you donated. Not all donor kits contain diamonds, but here are those that do:

Donor 100 (Skygod): Kit contains 1 diamond, which can be claimed once every 48 hours.

Donor 250 (Skytitan): This rank’s kit contains 3 diamonds and can be claimed once every 24 hours. When you upgrade your donor rank ran, or buy it anew from the store, you will get 32 diamonds as an added reward – this is not included in the kit.

There are also two other separate purchases that can be made for diamonds. However, these are only one time purchases:

8 diamonds: available for 15 USD.

32 diamonds: available for 45 USD.

You can browse the online skyblock store here, or follow the link on the navigation bar of the forums.

Tradeshops and inter-player trades – Diamonds can be traded for various items using a player shop. You can view the thread here which will guide you through how to set up your own.

Generally, items that are worth more are traded in diamonds. Instead of trading multiple stacks of grass, the player will trade in a currency with a greater value as it is rarer in the economy and worth more per piece than a block of grass is.

1 diamond is worth approximately 6-8 grass.

Voter crate rewards – When redeeming voter crates gained from vote parties or /vote at /warp crates, there is a rare chance that you’ll get a diamond as your reward.

What can diamonds be used for?

Diamonds are mainly used for trading, but can now also be used for making diamonds blocks which add to your island level as a valuable block. You can also use diamond blocks to power beacons. Diamonds aren’t limited to this, however, you can also create better tools – and get donators to repair and enchant them!

Examples of villager trades – At /warp trade, 10 diamonds will get you a horse spawn egg, or a parrot spawn egg. 2 diamonds can be traded for an emerald, and 1 diamond for 4 blocks of quartz.

Alternatively, over at /warp crates, you can purchase rare keys for 5 diamonds each, and common keys for 2 diamonds each.
