I'd rate this old if I rated things. People are going to make jokes about tragic events because of the reactions. The more people cry and whine about offensive jokes, the more they'll be done. 9/11 may have been a tragic event, but it doesn't compare to some of the more serious things that are joked about. You'll find that it's most Americans that get upset about 9/11 jokes, just like most Jews get upset when jokes about the holocaust are mentioned. There's very little point in being so offended by words on a screen. Some jokes are funny, some are dull, and some are overused, see the post I quoted above. People don't see the bigger picture about these situations, though. The jokes are insensitive to those that cannot handle dark humour, which isn't a bad thing. As for me? Well, it's impossible to offend me on the internet because I just don't care enough to be offended by some pixels on a screen.
I actually live in NY and happen to be in Manhattan while 9/11 happened, I was just a kid so don't remember much but definitely remember the scare of the whole thing. I honestly think all 9/11 jokes making fun of the terrorists that did it is fine, as long as ur making jokes about those ppl that caused 9/11. But definitely making a joke about the ppl that died or saying another 9/11 would happen is a problem.
why would people even joke about 9/11 many people died familys lost moms and dads kids grew up without parents I think you already know the answer f***ing stupid to make a topic about this LOL
No. This city is my home, and my mother was a few blocks away from that tragedy. Time doesn't matter because it's still marked in history. This can't even be discussed.
That didn't even make sense. 1. It makes a difference when it changes the number to 173,000 2. All of those are unfortunate, yet do we make jokes on all unfortunate events. WWII was almost a century ago (close to almost) but yet it's offensive if u make a joke about it to majority of ppl, same for any sickness. The only unfortunate event that should be joked about is what was written by lemony Snicket. 3. U can make fun of the fact that there spending money on the wrong things but not 9/11 itself. Unless it's making fun of the terrorists. 4. When something like 9/11 happens, it doesn't matter how long ago it was, a family or friend loss lasts forever. I don't think u have the right to state such an opinion. I'm 19 from NY and Jewish, and yes I do not like 9/11 or ww2 jokes. Except for the great dictator (Charlie Chaplin movie).
