Chickens have wayyy smaller heads, and they stand with their backs parallel to the ground, and tail flicking upwards (unlike quail, which stand with their backs sloping toward the ground and tail stoping downwards, like in the picture). Also, chickens have a wattle and comb :<
The wattle is a fleshy protrusion, in the chicken's case, hanging from the bottom of the beak to the top of the neck. It's more prominent in males (dimorphic) and its practical use is for courting mates. A comb is, much like a wattle, a fleshy protrusion found in various fowl species (but not quail) which stands erect (ha-ha I know) on top of the head. Again, larger in males, and used for courting.
