Homosexuals have never stated that hetero-relationships should be illegal, because it does not affect them, so why not the other way around? Heteros believe that they are *in italics* important and almighty, because they take up most of the population, but that does not make their opinion any more relevant than others' opinion(s).
So how come heteros are (pardon me) imbecilic enough to think they can disrespect/have bias opinions on homosexuals? Especially when their opinion(s) are irrelevant?
It doesn't matter if it's a pro-homo opinion or a no-homo opinion. Their opinions don't matter regardless of what their opinion is, because it doesn't involve them. Also, nowhere in the bible does it say homosexuality is a sin. And our conversation was perfectly civil, you just lost your s***, because I'm the top in my debate club, and religion vs atheism is one of my more familiar topics.
The book of Leviticus comes from the Jewish Torah. The Jewish faith believes that the coming of Christ has not yet arrived. Their Torah is a book of ruled which prepares them for the coming of the Son of God.
In believing the Old Testament, you are contradicting your own faith, because if you believe in Christ, the rules of the Torah are no longer viable. But if you believe in the Torah, you don't believe Jesus was Christ, and your saviour.
Also, there's great debate that Leviticus was an incorrect translation. Because people at that time were still 'sexist' the verse may refer to (in some languages) that a man cannot lie with a man as he does with a woman, because men were dominant over women, and you cannot sleep with someone the same rank with you. Which is why in ancient times, royalty cannot marry slaves.
And since we're in the topic of Leviticus and the Torah, I might as well mention that wearing clothing made of two different fabrics isn't allowed, pigs are considered 'dirty animals' because "they have cloven feet yet do not chew the cud" and the same goes for rabbits because they "chew the cud" yet don't have hooves.
Being a virgin before marriage is a law, and I'll bet half of our country broke that. You can be stoned to death for working on the Sabbath, etc. I doubt the book of Leviticus approves of what 'most' heterosexuals do.
And you don't need a church or a pastor to get married. All you need is a paper from the government, and the government legalized/given rights to LGBT marriage.
It contradicts itself because the Old Testament was to prepare us for the coming of Christ and that was it's sole purpose. If you still believe in the Old Testament can't believe in Jesus, because the rules have changed after Christ absolved our sins. If you still believe in the Old Testament, you don't believe in Jesus. Simple.
