Denied Why Am I Muted? TO ALL STAFF

Thank you for your patience. I will progress with my responses now.

I hope that this is the case for everything.
Not just this appeal.

Your Skyblock journey and future is yours - it is not your friends.
Claiming that you did what you did in 'order to keep your friends happy' is something that you carefully need to think about.
This does not reassure me that the same offences will not happen again. I hope you understand why I am thinking this.

If you ever past/present/future get 'riled up' by other players, you need to find ways of separating yourself from this.
Some mechanisms for things like this are:

• /ignore
• Disconnecting
• Contacting Staff
• Reporting users who break our rules
• Focussing on your SB Future rather than anyone else's.

The above reason you mentioned as to why your punishments were ignored, although honest, bring its own problems to the table.
I will not go into much detail with this for now. I believe this is something you can take the time needed to work on and need to discover for yourself.
One thing I will mention is: True friends, real friends want the best for you, want you to do well and achieve great things, they do not expect you to act up and jeopardise your access to anything in life.

Focus on you.

 

I will now move on to the next incident which resulted in you being banned in-game for 31 days. Although this was handled at the time. I will mention it as part of your history so we can discuss.

Furthermore,
In-game incident - Racist/Homophobic messages

As you know, back in late 2021, you were banned for being racist and disrespectful.
Your ban message was issued by myself asking you to be respectful and considerate to players and staff & to avoid, at all costs, being racist towards the same cohort of people.
Not longer after, you were punished for typing a homophobic sign on another players island.

A ban for 31days back in late 2021 was not enough for you to realise you had to calm down in chat, step back and think.
Your most recent infraction which I will discuss after your response proves this to be true.

This specific incident I would like to question and reflect on is your blatant disrespect towards one of our staff members and player.
Please see the spoiler below.

Both of these incidents, although both have been discussed briefly around the time of offence, are completely inappropriate. You were punished for both.

Some questions I have about the above:

• Joke or not, why did you think either of these was acceptable?
• Why did you not step back and think before this?
• No one was provoking you in either of these situations, no one was 'rifing you' so what was your reasoning?

Our rules are crystal clear when it comes to respecting players. No one has a free pass to these rules.
I have highlighted this one specific rule below for your consideration. I trust you will read this in detail and take what it says on board.

Ultimately, what I am worried about is: When you were facing the duration of these punishments, what did you do to reflect/fix things.
Your appeal history is no secret and your in-game infringements of our rules is long. This concerns me greatly.

The way you behave on our server is something that needs to come to an end.

This is not something you had to share with me.

Anyway, to progress on with this appeal, I will now discuss the most recent situation we have encountered.

| On 11th July 2022 you contacted me reporting another player for an incident that had taken place in-game. This was in relation to a large scale case which needed further investigation. Although the original report was in regards to another player, I was disappointed as to what I saw in the chat logs for this event.
When reading into the logs, I found a lot of messages from yourself personally that was borderline bullying and most certainly a clear rule break.

I have shared these screenshots in a spoiler below to refresh.

Apologies for the colours and scribbles. This is to keep other players involvement anonymous.

When you reported to me, you acted as though you were an innocent member of the event, that you were a witness who experienced a rule break. In this particular case - you were not directly involved to begin with. Logs display you getting involved after the incident and bullying the other player involved.

I am going to break down some of these messages below.

Both of these small sentence break two rules. This was in the space of 1 minute.
The corresponding rules broken were:

• Threats

Breaking this rule will result in an immediate punishment and potentially permanent removal from the server.

• Disrespectful comments

Respect should be given to every player on the server despite our differences, and any comments made with the intent of circling someone out or making someone uncomfortable will result in punishment.

This again, was not the first time you chose to be rude, single out a player and be disrespectful. I appreciate you had reasons for this, but you took this into your own hands in a very immature and uncourteous manner.
This was not a sensible decision and was part of the reason a mute was considered.

All 3 of these messages again, show a lack of respect and unfairness.
Everyone is welcome to play on our server as long as they abide by our rules. It is not ok to tell players to leave just because you are not a fan of them.

Those 3 messages were sent in the space of 20 seconds. I am aware there was another player involved, but this is not about them. This is to discuss your comments to them.

Previously in this appeal, you mentioned you retaliate to situations that rifle you or trigger you. I appreciate that sometimes it can be hard to control emotions however, regardless of that - there is no excuse to speak to anyone in this manner.
In the not so distant history of this appeal, mechanisms to stop this kind of thing happening were mentioned.

Time is needed to truly have these embedded.

The same rules mentioned above, are also relevant for these messages, as well as:

• Chat offences

I don't think I even need to explain what rules this breaks.
Whether this is your opinion or not, it does not need to be shared on our server, especially with a player base like ours.

As you should know, we are a server that welcomes people of all ages, whether they be of legal Minecraft age or a full adult, anyone is accepted.

No one deserves to be bullied... ever.

To conclude with this particular event, you finished with a gloat in global chat:

This again, is not unbefitting behaviour. You did not win, there is no winner here.
This one comment of him logging off proves that you upset a player and your words/actions made them feel unwelcome. This is not something we will ignore.

I appreciate your acknowledgement on the previous incident.

There are a couple of things I just want to comment on:

I completely understand and relate to this, but sometimes it requires a level knowledge to know what you can really assist with and what you can do. In situations like this, it may require staff to step in and aid the recovery process after the incident. You can refer back to our previous conversation around mechanisms to avoid this kind of thing

I will now recap with you over your history over the past year.

As you can, your history speaks for itself. Our staff team have issued various punishments to you for the same thing over and over again. I hope that this appeal has truly drawn your attention to how serious we are taking this.

There is a saying in life ''You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink''
I worry that with all the punishments and conversations we have had with you over the past year in-game alone, there has still been no change or regret in the way you act. We continue to punish for poor behaviour, but it doesn't seem to provoke any alterations.

Serving time doesn't mean a person has fully understood or is remorseful for past actions. I hope that having this time away from chat will enable you to truly grow, reflect on who you have hurt and who you can make that up to. We need to see a change the way you behave on our server.
