On the old server there was a maximum of 1000 entities. If it got to 1000 entities it would clear all of them regardless of the time it's been since the last clag. This should be added back (limit is debatable) and could possibly reduce the lag which is causing players displeasure.
I agree. i'd say 1,500 is a good cap. I mean any more ground entities than that and you know someones causing quite the bit of lag.
Cap at 750. Or have a cap that changes based on number of players. Higher or lower to compensate for more lagging players / more players needing to drop more items. Someone would have to find a balance
I would support this if it gave a warning before removing it. Like, “Limit reached, removing ground items in 10 seconds!” Giving trading players time to wait. Otherwise, they could be trading a beacon or what not, and out of no where, it hits. Not to mention, What if 15 players were afk grinding? Every 30 seconds clear lag would hit. Also, it has to use some sort of entity detection to detect the amount of entities in the world, and if it was constantly checking entities, it would cause some lag.
