  • Have you ever been banned on any platform? Yes, on survival, for double jump. I was new and didn't know it was illegal.

• • Do you have any past moderation experience? I've moderated a few small discord servers.
  • Why do you think you should become a staff member?
  I think I should become a staff member for the following reasons:
  1. I am helpful. I often spend medium amounts of my time helping people.
  2. I play on eco, and I feel that that eco, despite the promotion of 2 great mods Bdark and Megan, and Agent focusing there, it's still under-moderated compared to survival.
  3. I am knowledgeable about both servers. I have played both servers for over a year actively and am quite aware of most things on both servers.
  4. I am a smart and resourceful person. I will use this to learn to be a mod and help people the best I can.
  5. I don't have a temper.
  6. I enjoy helping people! Helping new players makes me feel happy. It's one of my favorite things to watch players grow.
  7. I have read almost every ban appeal since survival was released, so that way I'll be aware of how to act on ban appeals and how certain situations merit different punishments.
  • Do you meet the requirements for staff? Yes.
  Previous experience: Helped set up a small server with some friends. 2 to 7 daily players. I still help there; building, testing, and moderating. I think it's a good way for me to get experience and doesn't take too much of my time.

why are you apologizing for this???? if you can do better prices for other players then you should do that. it's not impolite to have better prices than someone who's prices are usually sky high.

i have to be honest, i have been watching you on forums and i can not see you becoming a moderator as of now. ill let you know some things you can work on once i can find the words im trying to think of lol

I feel like this is a little unfair given the circumstances. They've disclosed that they are dyslexic, and it's well known that a lot of dyslexic people have problems with reading, writing, spelling etc.

Hey Ursus, I think your application is a little short and you could possibly make the formatting better. If you struggle with spelling, I think Grammarly could help you out a bit (I use it too and find it very helpful. )

I don't think I've seen you on that often, and you don't have many posts on forums yet, but I have seen that a majority of your posts come from the same threads. I'll keep an eye out for you.

also pil as I have mentioned I am dyslexic to avoid the spelling in my app I actually ran it through a grammar checker so while I am sorry for my previous bad spelling it will continue to my own despair and that of my teachers

I feel running it through a grammar checker was a good idea.

i'm sorry about this ursus but whenever I see you on, you get involved and side in fights quite a bit. I notice that you make yourself seem like the victim to everything and you don't like to see the other side of the story. I recommend helping out more, not getting into fights, and don't make yourself seem like the victim. I would show some screenshots but I really do not want to start an argument. I'd love if you could change my mind by following those steps!

Edit: don't say that you've given away stuff in your application, just a small fix.

 

No support, because I have never seen you actually help anyone. I have seen you online a lot, but until I see more help coming from you, I will remain No Support. Although, if there is a good increase of help, I am happy to increase to neutral or support.

I think I'm going to remain neutral as I see some potential coming through. If you could just focus on the activity as well as putting them little meaningful details into your application, you could go quite far. If you want to become a staff member here then don't let anybody stop you from achieving that, put your mind to it and work for what you want. I see you in-game and it may be quite rare, its something that can be worked towards improving. I've seen some comments about getting involved in fights and unnecessary actions- but as I said, that can also be worked on. Don't let your past define you.

Hey Ursus, I've talked quite a bit with you in game. As such, I have a pretty good idea of who you are and how you behave.

You're very business minded. From your app and from our conversations in-game and on discord, I can see that you strive to apply real-life skills and values to gameplay. This isn't necessarily a good or bad thing; it depends entirely on how you translate these irl values to player interactions.

Like others have said, I seldom see you helping out in public chat. It's fine to help people out in PM, but you might consider putting helpful answers to questions in global chat as well. This serves the dual purpose of letting members of the community that you are capable of providing assistance as well as answering the question for other new players who might have the same issue.

As far as your understanding of game mechanics goes, you have a pretty solid grasp of the rules and how to do/get things. I've seen you occasionally help people out with custom crafting recipes as well as answer nuanced questions like "how do I stop water from freezing without a torch"?

Your dyslexia seems to be a big topic of discussion as well. I've known and worked with many dyslexic students in my school over the years, and I know it's not a problem easily dealt with. Feel free to reach out if you think there's anything I can do to help.

For the most part, I am pretty much ambivalent towards your application. Here's a few things I would change if I were you:

1 . Take out the bit about "I will do ______ once my current business venture is up and running". It makes it sound like you are prioritizing your own wealth over the needs of the mod app and attending to new players

2. Take out the part where it says you're AFK all day. This is a terrible trait for a moderator to have; nobody wants a mod who's just sitting online all day unresponsive Even if it's not an accurate description of your in-game behavior, take it out because it will give a lot of people the wrong idea.

3. Don't pick out specific players to apologize to. Much like a college essay, this app is a place for you to showcase your good qualities, not for you to try and bury all the skeletons in your closet so they won't no-support you. When staff are reviewing your app, they automatically discount any personal arguments you have with other people. Instead, they look more at how you deal with them in the long run.

Support 100%, ursus tries his best to be helpful and if a moderator he plays a lot and will help out all the players. He is also never disrespectful towards anyone.

Hey Ursus! I’ve spoken to you quite a bit in game and on forums. Your application is good but could be worked on slightly- as stated by GAMER1232012. You have also double posted here an awful lot as I have noticed- twice on your application here itself. Unfortunately I haven’t seen you help out much in game and you could be more active on forums and discord. I also think you could work on your maturity slightly. Overall, I think you are a really nice person, but wouldn’t be a suitable staff member as of now. It’s a no support from me for now, but I will come back to this application when/if I change my mind.
