    Skyblock is a tight nit community, there's no denying that. Theres also a problem going on currently. We are having an influx of players coming onto the server and being disrespectful to other players by bypassing the filter and just generally being rude. Often when there are no mods this occurs to such an extent, the chat is spammed with racist, and sexist and other derogatory comments about other players. If there were more active staff members, this would not be an issue. Often players have to take this into their own hands report them to the mods, but it still continues throughout the night. I strongly recommend that there are more staff members on and active. Thanks

    The staff team is constantly looking for volunteers people just need to Apply. I do believe all staff members but 2 or 3 are inactive. They only come on when a player reports someone compared to them being online just because they want to play and don’t have to come on only for a report then leave.

    I think the report system is for when a no staff members are online for example a time zone problem or when a player feels the need to report someone. I feel like the staff team aren’t putting in the effort (except for 2 or 3) to actually come online and moderate. They just rely on the report system to actually have to get online.
    Now don’t get me wrong staff members have a whole life they need to be worried about more, but they should still fit in time to come on and moderate.

    Honestly the staff here are somewhat active on average. As Monster stated the staff team are always looking for more people. Some staff here are students that have to focus on their school, or just life in general. s*** happens and sometimes you just have to compromise your role as a moderator to focus on bringing back your normal life. For the most part when I get in game I would see a mod or two pop on and 30 seconds later leave like wtf lmao, what were you doing man?

    And in regards of more players breaking rules as far as I am concerned, I rarely see rule breakers. Are you seeing the right server?

    I agree, but there are times when what Midnight says is true (unfortunately). Like I used to see some wack stuff in chat, visit their island, and often the first thing I see is the person saying whatever crafting a boat and try to bypass Bukkit/Spigot's Anti-Boatfly or NoCheatPlus, whatever anticheats on the server.

    I remember tping to Wonkie as he was dealing with the a case, and the first thing I see is 3-4 guys scaffolding, boatflying and even at one point try to craft Book&Quills as if the book dupe still worked (it doesn't) and even at one point try to crash the server with whatever client he was using (it didn't work and he was kicked instantly for packetspamming).

    After Wookie banned them, he told me 2 of them had tried to join back on NFA alts (they're usually free or about 2 cents each average price) and tried to keep spamming, breaking rules and whatever.

    That's one of many that I've witnessed.

    Hell, even I used to cheat (and tbh, still do) and the most common of them all is KillAura, SpeedHacks, and few more different in Mob Arena, Warp Mob and other PvP enabled areas.

    Even more than cheaters are scammers. But tbh scammers are just pure hell compared to cheaters, because there's really no other way to grief people anymore unless a person trusts them.

    I remember some donor complaining about a scam TradeChest where they had renamed an item to Beacon and removed the item on top of tradechest and someone came and clicked it so yeah

    then again, just another day in skyblock. There's so much more I don't witness, even more so now because of the person who posted the thread

    There are many applications coming around these days. I believe one of them would get promoted to Helper. I agree with archer though. And pccoolguy did you just admit you use KA, speed etc. on ma?

    I mean maybe more strict rules for how active you need to be would work and you have to report when you’re away and can’t get on. I don’t know what you think?

    Yes, this seems to be quite a common discussion here.

    The managers look for quality over quantity staff. All members of the team have been selected because of the value they bring regardless of their current activity status. Staff selections are done carefully, and applicants are monitored to see whether they’re a good fit for the team and are ready for staff responsibility.

    Yes, some current staff may be ‘inactive’ - I currently fall into that category, because although its technically 'summer' I have other commitments which take my focus away from moderating - giving all of my left over available time to SB just isn't practical. However, myself - like other members of the team, give what we can and when we can.

    This means player reports on forums are really helpful. Although myself and the other mods cannot be online all the time, we can still see who is causing trouble and handle it at a later date. This is why we encourage players to engage in report making. It’s also a good way to show you understand the rules and know what you‘re looking for in rule breakers!

    Discord is a really handy place too, as you can message us and we'll get back to you as soon as we can - and we can be quickly summoned if available to help handle situations.

    All staff were at some point active, it's a must to be promoted in the first place. Many, especially if they're been staff for a while, go through periods of burnout - where they just wish to take a break for a little while, with the intention of returning later with a more detailed focus.

    Due to the nature of a volunteering job, the online time of the mods is flexible. There are no time obligations per week, it's on a basis of what you can do and what your schedule allows.

    We are always looking for new staff, and welcome new applications! If you know anyone who would be good, or fancy trying yourself, the application section is always there.

    To summarise; things come up which mean we can't always be active, some experience burn outs - and need time away to re-energise, and we can't always be sat online waiting for something to come up... (my name isn't Prxc).

    I have a double sided opinion on this;

    I don't think we actually need more mods but I do think we could change existing ones;
    Remove a couple very inactive moderators and replace them with brand new more active ones.

    I do agree on having new staff since the server is practically empty and the only way to get mods on currently is by sending them a Discord message.

    Yeah, I agree, there is constantly a lack of staff, although, staff is always helpful.
