Global Updates - November 17th, 2025
- When islands are loaded or reset, the areas in which they are generated will no longer scan and fix any lighting issues. I believe this was an old issue where some chunks may appear darker but it should naturally fix itself. Perhaps slight improvement 1%+.
- Edit: These changes related to villagers below have been reverted. If you had your villagers removed during login between 8:00 - 8:45 am on November 18th (EST). Please feel free to re-spawn them or create a ticket via discord if you would like them replaced.
Villagers will be nerfed to the max. Villagers are the most resource extensive mob (one may be equal to 15 passive animals) and they are commonly used for decoration by a handful of players and are not useful. Instead of getting rid of them entirely, their AI will be close to non-existent. Players with large amounts will have them removed.

Global Updates - November 16th, 2025
- Improvements to chunk loading, entities, and miscellaneous changes to various functions for better performance. Some of these settings were done a few weeks ago, however they are now a bit more strict as they have not caused any issues. For example, the amount of chunks sent to clients and loaded by individual players/globally have been decreased. This can help reduce lag spikes and balance out the load from larger islands or areas with mass amount of entities (item frames, mobs, etc). It may be slightly noticeable when loading an island for the first time, where chunks come into view slowly, though once the chunks are loaded, everything will function as normal. Unnecessary mobs like those found in raids (vindicators, etc) will tick less and not function unless nearby. Scrapped some other non-important features, the less the server spends on ticking aspects we do not use on Skyblock, the more we can increase in performance.

Global Updates - November 15th, 2025
- Mobs can enter Minecarts once again, reverting our previous change the other day. There will be a limit for minecarts per island soon, as there is with hopper minecarts.
- Islands with massive amounts of mobs will be reduced. Instead of making new changes to stacking or AI that negatively affect everyone, limits will be put in place on specific mobs. For example, on Economy, we have close to 1700 sheep that are loaded consistently, 80% of which are from 2-4 players, with one player having over 800. This will be reduced to around 50-100 per island. These types of mobs farms such as sheep, which are split up individually for wool will need to be adjusted. In the future, we can alleviate this change by making sheep yield more than one wool per stack.

Skyblock Updates - November 11th, 2025

These updates were applied to Economy yesterday and have now been applied to Survival:
- Mobs will no longer check for and enter boats or minecarts. This has been used by players to make mobs incapable of de-spawning or stacking. It could affect some mob farms that utilize this but if so, they will have to be adjusted. Boats and Minecarts also add an extra entity to the world, therefore one mob and one boat/minecart would equal two entities that would never de-spawn.
- Glow Squids will now de-spawn automatically when loading the chunk that they are located in. Glow Squids crash 1.20+ clients. Previously, if the mob was located near your island spawn point, you would crash on every login.
- You will receive an error message when attempting to place sugarcane on moss blocks, notifying you that the sugarcane can be placed, but it will not grow like normal mechanics.
