I see many threads like this one where people ask why XYZ important person is banned. I was thinking we could create a mega-thread that states every time somebody is banned, the reason, and maybe the punishment. This would hopefully include in-game stuff as well. Mods, what do you think and would you want to maintain such a thread? If this would fit better in website discussions please move it.
If this is a suggestion, I'd go with no support. Cause it's really none of our business, and we should respect the privacy If this is not a suggestion, idk what to say LOL
I don't really think banned people "need to have their privacy respected" in my opinion as they have broken a rule so it is fair that they at least are KNOWN to have broken a rule. A bit like a punishment for them in itself. Maybe this could only apply for certain bans though, such as hacking.
I respect your opinion but again, it's non of our business and we shouldn't interfere with it. Think it in the way as if you were the one banned, you wouldn't really want people gossiping about you and send you hate all the time would you? Just because you broke a rule and got banned.

That's the point! We wouldn't want our privacy invaded therefore we won't want to get ourselves banned!
No. I know many, many players don't want people to know about their bans or why they were banned, maybe because of humiliation, etc. These bans aren't created for everyone to know. Sometimes it's none of peoples businesses. Not a great idea.
Of course, there's always rumors going around, so we'll definitely know if someone's banned and a brief reason on why they were. But making a thread just dedicating to name all the players who have a bad record, for example advertising is humiliating for themselves. And when you said their privacy shouldn't be "respected" it's like saying they don't deserve any respect. For example, opinions not mattering just because they advertised a server once. So again, no to this suggestion as this is just rude and disrespectful to other players.
Sometimes, a ban can be accidental, so people would prefer to keep the information private. If you aren't involved in a ban, then it really isn't anyone's business. If they would like people to know, they would let others know themselves.

No, no, no, no, no whatsoever. Many bans are personal and should only be known among the person (or whoever they share it with) and the staff team. There are many bans/mutes/etc. given out for a reason not everyone should know. Some things should just be kept private.
LOL People thinking their bans are "private". If you want to know go HERE and HERE, do a search for the Player you wanna stalk, read the Drama. Judgements in justice are not private IRL and aren't here as well. Everyone can read through them. At least most of them. If they are not there, then it's classified

No support. Even if you broke the rules, I just think it's rude to have someone tell the whole server what you did wrong.
I don't believe a thread is needed for this. If you want to know why someone is banned you can simply ask a moderator that is in-game. Whether that mod chooses to tell you or not is completely up to them.
