what you want it to be is what it should be. it's your island after all. visit my island to see what i would call "my style" there are many islands you can visit to get an idea of what you might like. explore, and be creative.- Words of wisdom from Eagle
A lot of people terraform their islands. I have my island on net look like a group of floating islands.
I am teraforming mine. Almost done with the top layer. I'll start a thread for it after that is done.
I would suggest in expressing your personality through building or just building a style you like. I myself am hoping to build a medieval style island.
I like to visit Islands to see what other Peoples do. On the other Hand I encourage pleople to visit mine, even if it's not done yet. I think on a skyblock Island one should be able to see the sky. I am often dissapointed when I land in a cave I can't get out. Kinda claustrophobic I guess. Another no-go to me is an Island made (almost) solely from cobble. It's like if the builder has no respect for himself. There are so many materials! If it's only a cobble-box with trade- and bannershop it I tend to hit /is as fast as when falling into the void. Anything else is interesting to me, no matter what as Long as it Looks like someone put some efforts in it, either time or creativity, or both.
Trump has the right idea for his skyblock. But in all seriousness, do as you like. I liked to build redstone contraptions and just make the island look better in my opinion, which ended up failing, but I tried.
A skyblock island should look like; your creativity. Express your creativity, build landscapes, use unique materials and show off your character. There are no rules for what a good skyblock island is, although in the social aspect certain blocks like cobblestone go into the noob/newb -ish zone Here are some tips (NOT rules): - Make your island look good from all sides. This shows that you have put work into your island - for example, do not make your island a tunnel system. Free roaming. - Be organized. A certain style (like medieval) in the visible part of your island looks way better than lots of random shops / places. Underneath your island you can possibly hide your other stuff - Use various blocks. Using cobblestone can get boring - use interesting blocks to make your island look nice(er)!
