:worm Is 'like farming' defined in the rules somewhere? Who monitors this and how do they determine it? :cat
Is 'rate abuse' also a term that is defined? I guess I need someone to point out where these terms are defined because I'm not on the forums very much and I'm trying to straighten out some confusion for my daughter here. Thx.
Aha. So what I did really isn't illegal...? I liked a ton of my friends' posts, but they never asked me to. I just did it because everyone else was, and also because I liked them and wanted to show it.
"Like farming" is asking people for likes so you can get a rating you can also be banned for rating abuse by helping people farm likes
Guys. Lets clear this up. Like farming in brief is: Gaining likes by someone liking all your content on your profile Gaining likes by someone liking all the posts you make in threads Gaining likes by posting on a friends profile, getting them to like that post, and then returning the favour. Asking people for likes eg. like this status if... if this status gets (#) likes i will do this. This is under the ratings abuse umbrella. Ratings abuse is the misuse of the rating system. The rating system is designed for users to give opinion on posts, and work towards getting notable members, and trophy points, not to be used to cheat, and abuse. Mods will monitor this like farming, especially if they notice someone has a dramatic increase in ratings. Players are also encouraged to speak up if they have been the victim of like farming (even though it is good getting positive ratings, its better to earn them legit.). I hope this basically clears things up.
The question was about like farming :3 Abuse with positive ratings, which many people dont realise is equally as illegal as ratings abuse with negatives.
A Detailed Description of Rating Abuse | Skyblock Forums great thread by mindsensation if you wanna learn more about rating abuse, it's worth the read :3 Like Farming / Spamming – Like farming occurs when a player will continuously spam someone with positive ratings in order for this player to gain a higher number of positive ratings, and/or get added perks, such as trophy points, or a place on the notable members. This could include, but is not limited to; status messages, profile posts and posts in any thread. Like spamming with 2 or more people is considered like farming. Making alternate accounts for the sole purpose of giving yourself ratings is also against the rules, as well as any alternate account in general.
Nobody asks about my sticky thread ;-; jk Anyways, this has been answered about 15 times in different ways. Moving it to the help archive. Since it was a question anyway.
