What happens when a black hole appears?

What is a black hole? It is a region of space that has such an intense gravitational field, that no matter or radiation can escape. An example would be that even light cannot escape a black hole. What happens is when a star dies, the gravity becomes so strong that it is squeezed into a tiny space. When I mentioned the example earlier about light not even being able escape, this plays a huge factor to us. Since there is no light, we cannot see black holes. They are basically invisible but some technology such as space telescopes with special tools on them can see the black holes.

How big are black holes? Some black holes are humongous but some are as small as an atom. Even though they can get as small as an atom, it doesn't mean that they don't have a lot of force. Actually, the black holes as small as atoms have the mass of mountains. But black holes have many different kinds and one in particular is the "stellar". A stellar can have a mass up to 20 times more than the sun!! Another type of black hole which is the largest is called the "supermassive". This black hole has the mass for 1 million suns put together!! In the middle of our Milky Way, the galaxy for Earth is located in, we have a supermassive which we call Sagittarius A. This black hole has the mass equal to about 4 million suns.

Many of you are questioning if black holes can eat the Earth. No, black holes are not even remotely close to Earth. Even if a black hole the same mass of the sun formed near us, we would not be dragged in because the black hole would have the same gravity as the sun. That means we would orbit the black hole instead of being sucked in.

Thanks for reading What Happens When...

    Yay, u made it

Im just going to add in that, if a human were to enter a black hole, and someone was to be watching, they would supposedly move slower and slower until they just stop. then they would seem to just fade away. And then that person that entered the black hole, wouldnt be sucked into some vortext on some other side of space. What would happen to them is called spagetification, the would be stretched by the gravity of the black hole indefinitely.

I actually knew more about black holes than I thought.
