If it is WorldGaurded I think It will be safe, but that would be something to consider because typing /home and finding a couple blazes isn't always a fun time

Another great thing about blazes is their xp, they drop a LOT

 

Wait... nether portals will be activated in 1.4?
Then it would be a disaster, so much lava everywhere because of obsidian.

About Minecraft 1.4 / bukkit / Nether, it would of course be up to how it looks with Noobcrew, how stable/lag-free it is, etc. No guarantees it would work, at least right away.
