As an adult here's just two examples of things that have changed so far in my lifetime. Rotary phones have become cell/satellite/g4 phones in your pocket. Massive building sized punch card run computers are now Raspberry Pis. Still waiting for my flying car though.

Gods even I remember the rotary phone, and I'm half your age, =P

Up until he retired to Florida, my Grandfather would always use a Manual push mower to cut his lawn. It didn't even have an Engine *Gasp!* I know scary thought kids.. Something that needs Human power was being used next door to someone who had a state of the art Ride-on Lawn Tractor..

Technology may be getting easier for us, but, its up to US to decide how we want it to dictate human life. Or at the very least, our personal life.

My cell pone isn't some fancy smart phone. Heck it can't even send or receive photos, it has no camera. I'm ok with that. I Could upgrade if I wanted to, but I Don't want to.

Am I grateful for Computers, compared to having to do the physical research for schooling or hand writing everything? Yes and No. Being an Oregon Trail kid has let me have the best of both worlds. I still go to the library to try to find actual books on what I need, but instead of the confusing card catalog, it is all computerized. Yet I end up just browsing the books on the shelves instead since its still easier.

    *****************

    TL;DR
Technology is only what You do with it.

I'm half your age and I remember rotary phones too, I still have one that is about 85 years old.

We we're talking about something similar in school today...

This may be slightly off topic... But as global problems get worse, such as marine pollution and plastic pollution, humans may be 'extinct' one day. As we start loosing things we need to use, such as the ocean, we will face some problems. We depend on so many natural things to survive. We take a lot of things for granted and don't think about our actions. What if we loose our ocean? Or animals? Food and water, gone. Yes, you can grow vegetables, but we need worms and other bugs in the ground to help it grow.

We also learnt about how we produce so much carbon from factories and that we need plants to photosynthesis and take in the carbon. If not, I think that but our ocean and sea will start to have acid in it, our air with acid in it.

Tell me if I'm wrong in any way, but that's just all I remember from the talk...
It's interesting though, what will we become?
