I have loved Skyblock and played version 2.1 for several years now.

I was surprised when I logged in today in my updated 1.18 client that a fresh download of Skyblock no longer worked in Minecraft!

I got it from here, but it didn't work: Skyblock Official Site | Skyblock

So, I made an installation of version 1.16.1, and loaded Skyblock 2.1 into that, converted the map, started the game, immediately saved and quit, then started up my 1.18 installation, started the game, then immediately saved and quit.

No further changes were made. So, here's a direct link to the save game all zipped up again:

Please provide an official release!!! Not all of us like going onto someone else's server, and would like to just

In my opinion, there's no reason to play a 1.12.2 version of a map on a 1.18 version of the game just play on 1.12.2. There aren't any updates to the map with 1.18 as it will still be the original classic skyblock. That being said it should still work on 1.18. What does it say?

 

Your opinion is one of a person that has the technical proficiency to play on 1.12.2. Not everyone has the computer proficiency to be able to figure that out. We should try to be considerate of those without our experience.

Excellent, because that's all that some people want - to be able to play original SkyBlock without errors that prevent the map from loading.

Frankly, I'm not seeing why you had such immediate resistance to this. Can you explain this resistance please?

 

1 I was just suggesting you play on 1.12.2 instead of 1.18
2 You most likely won't have any problems playing on 1.12.2
3 I don't think that 1.6.4 is the same as 1.16.4
4 I'm not trying to be mean or anything like that, I am just trying to help

 

All the OP here seems to want is an update to the files that is pre-loaded for 1.18. New creatures spawn in the newer version of the game and being able to utilize every feature possible seems like an overwhelmingly positive thing. Having a file defaulted in the current edition means that people without the technical skills to navigate to an older installation easily will have a far easier time of handling the situation. All and all I agree.

 

Hey mate, if possible, you can run the world in 1.6.4 then it should allow you to update to 1.18, or there might be a version between you need to use, if there is any issues or you are unable to do this, you can send me the world save on discord, ill update it and send it back to you (although you've never met me and can't be 100% sure it is safe to use the file I send back, I assure you I am computer literate and make a fair attempt to keep my pc clean and free of malware) If this is something you would like me to do for you, my discord is under my forums picture just message me

 

It's mainly for backward support I think

basically one set of files can be used on many past versions of games

I don't see the point of updating map as the game handled and have explaned the error clearly in red text

It's better to support multiple versions without a re-designed download page currently.
