I noticed that the nether is turned off but I, without cheating by trading lava or anything like that, built a nether portal and I'm wondering why you don't have it on.

 

This is a Good point but i believe the main reason is because of the lag related errors :/

 

Keep in mind that you could get lava and that kind of cheating :/

 

A true Nether would bring tremendous lag to the server, and trust me, this server doesn't need anymore lag.

 

You could also find other people's portals, which makes it a bad thing.

Lag good reason. Lava not so much you can make oby from redstone so lava doesn't matter, plus trading it is illegal anyways. Griefing could be bypassed by just making a main netherportal and then ever so many chunks place another and you will only come out at the origin or get a plugin that does the same. All are good reasons not to though.

 

Still, getting redstone takes more valuables than just entering the Nether, getting 10-20 stacks of lava, and coming back with it. Would totally ruin the economy and gameplay.

Yes i kind of agree with both "Sides". Nether would be fun, apart from the fact anything could walk into the nether and walk out of the nether and you could get lava as most have said. I would love the Nether but i also wouldnt want it? Its hard to list all the Positives and Negetives of this Suggestion but to me theres a few more negetives than positives.

 

This is VERY true. I think the same

 

Make a Nether skyblock with mc edit Jk. If the Nether is turned on many people will abuse it. People will destroy portals making them stuck. A higher percent of lag and griefing too.

 

All of these are good reasons so I don't think that Noobcrew will turn it on...

 

Lol, Especially "The End". I swear people will just steal all of the EndStones, farm enderpearls and mine the obsidian towers. The Nether also has Wither Skeletons, Those things can make Withers and grief the whole entire skyblock.

Yes, So over all i dont think anyone who has the power of turning the nether on will turn it on after looking at this. Lets stay with the Nether Traders for now.
