I do not understand why it was removed in the first place. Reintroduce /trust list showing who has trusted you.
I don't think it was removed as much as it was overlooked because its a smaller detail. It will be getting implemented said Leeeroieee
I tested it just now and can see what you mean. It was left out unintentionally, but now that I'm thinking about it, I'm thinking it might actually be good that it's missing. We've had instances in the past where people have gotten a hold of someone else's account (either bought, borrowed, or stolen) and used /trust list to find out everyone who trusted that player, and visited each one in turn to see if there was anything valuable to steal. I'm wondering if the benefits of easily being able to check who has trusted you outweighs the risks to those players if your account is ever compromised or transferred.
Fair point. I guess you don't really need to know who trusted you; if you can place a block, you know. I can think of many uses that would be positive but the one negative happens to be quite rare, yet could pose a big issue. I would leave this one solely on the admins and devs at this point because if you feel like having it will endanger users islands then you do what you need to do.
Yes it will avoid major griefs/loots and it's actually a benefit. Also why would we need it to see who we can grief lol.
Can you help me understand what not being able to see who has trusted you prevents you from doing and why you consider this a major inconvenience?
If I am helping someone on an island with expansion, or if I'm helping build something on an island it is EXTREMELY useful to see who has trusted me incase I forgot their name.
I support this, but I also agree with both points of views. I think it was helpful, as of I helped people with stuff, and I normally made small builds for them, as you know, a gift. I would sometimes forget their names, so I couldn't do what I was gonna help them with, or the gift. I also think it's just easier to know what islands you are trusted on instead of going around and asking people "Hey am I trusted on your island?" It'd be easier to have it when you do /trust list and would save some time and trouble, but that also leads to my reasoning why I'm with the other point of view too. Your account could be compromised, someone could of bought it, or your friend could simply be playing on it. I think having the people trusting showing up on trust list could also be a downfall because people could get griefed, and frustrated players will leave due to them getting griefed. There's so much that could go wrong with adding this command back, but I think it was a really good idea.
Thank you for the explanation. While I can see how this might help you, I'm not sure that the convenience to you outweighs the risks to others. It seems to me that if you are doing a job for someone, you should probably keep notes on the requirements (exactly what was requested, deadlines, and any terms for payment, etc.), and that one of the most important details you should capture is the island owner's IGN. You should have this information in screenshots, in chat logs (in your .minecraft folder), or any forums conversations or discord chats you've had to discuss the requirements and agree to the terms. Any of these means provide you a better way of tracking this information without putting others at risk in the event your account is ever compromised or transferred. Can you suggest any way to limit the harm that could be caused to others if someone who gets hold of your Minecraft account can easily find out who has you trusted on their island?
I've never heard that accounts being compromised happens often or is an usual occurrence. You speak of it like it happens every other day. If it is such a problem that I've never heard about I'd suggest a simple /trust pw ... , that forces the player to type in a password to access his trusts. (on home and other islands) as this would ensure maximum security.
