Hi, my name is Asivator and as most of you know, I own BlockHub and my friend JuztAndy have built amazing malls with custom gambling machines, Islands, etc, yet some people have the audacity to copy our work and take credit for it *cough* *cough* _xXthegodofpvpxx_... Skyblock should be a stress free and fun server to play on, but its not because i'm constantly having to compete against my own creations and explain to ignorant people to take it down, which they won't. Below I will list steps there should be to copyright machines...

Step 1: Have a player select 2 points to get the full model of their unique design, and have a command to pay x amount of grass and an accurate description of the machine to store into an achieve which staff could check for duplicated and etc.

Step 2: Have commands to have players give rights for another player/ or everyone to use a design.

Step 3: Have a rule enforcing the Copy Right rule so the creator can report an user for copying and have a warning, and if they refuse to take it down a short ban with the machine dismantled.

Neutral. The idea seems nice, but I feel like everybody has the right to create their own creation, regardless if its the same or not. I mean you can claim you were the first, by providing evidence but that's all I can think of. Also if you're gonna copyright a building, lets say a tradeshop, then it would create a ton of conflicts because a lot of people own a tradeshop and you can't "own the idea".

 

I Agree with you, but there can be rules on certian building like dropper casinos and stuff so that those buildings are for everyone

Neutral, as it kinda sound complicated especially to the people who are unaware of this "Copyright rule", plus there are many designs that can/are copied off from youtube (Eg: the watch tower) or copied and pasted from other servers into this server aka Schematicas so you can't really claim these designs as it would be unfair cause you didn't design them, plus people might have similar, if not identical designs or some sort so I'm staying on Neutral

Plus the best way to stop people from copying your designs is to lock ur island or ask them to ask you for permission to use ur design (if they even listen lol)

 

Support I myself stole design from some1 eles who no longer plays and I call it my own and I got in many arguments because people would copy it this would stop the arguing and make people happy on their creations

 

Neutral. Everyone is allowed the freedom to build whatever they want. If someone's copying your build, it's because they think it's good enough to do that.

No support. Imagine i would claim some basic redstone contraptions like filters, clocks, etc.

 

No support, people may accidentally copy someone else's build without knowing. Also people can abuse this and copyright something people build often, such as a cobble generator.

Im still neutral. The idea is good, but there needs to be an extent where the copyright rule can go. If you just create it, everyone is gonna copyright small things like wood, tools, and more. That's going to create tons of conflict.

If you can add in to which extent it can go, I may change my support status

 

Well there could be a checkup procedure that takes a couple days for research to check if others have it and stuff and in exchange the price to copyright can be high like 16Dia so people can't abuse it

 

No support, this isn’t a game where you can only build certain things. You’re free to build whatever you like, and yes it may suck if someone copies your buildings, but take that as a “they are clueless and like your building so they’re using it” situation and you should feel proud someone enjoys your builds.

 

Well for me its hard to be proud when people steal my credit and try making profit off it
