CROP HOPPER'S Economy's new update! *Please note that as of the 1.19.2 update, Crop Hoppers will automatically sell crops collected - there is no need for any chests to be attached to the Crop Hopper.* Hey all! As you are aware the new Crop Hoppers have arrived in Economy. This is a guide to help you all navigate your way around them. Feel free to ask any questions I have not answered in this thread in the comments (To view your chunk borders do F3 and G) How to get them? 1. /shop Crop hoppers are sold in /shop under the hopper icon 2. /crophopper This takes you directly to all 3 hoppers Prices: Level one: 20,000 Level two: 50,000 Level three: 80,000 Levels: So, what are the different levels? The varied levels in hoppers reflect on what the hopper can take in. The higher the level, the more items it can take in. --- Level one: Cactus and Sugarcane Level two: Cactus, Sugarcane, Wheat Level three: Cactus, Sugarcane, Wheat, Pumpkins and Melons How do they work: This part is relatively simple. Your crop hoppers cover your whole chunk. This is a 16x16x320 area! You are allowed one crop hopper per chunk. These are the blue horizontal lines that appear when chunk borders are open. Place a hopper in the block space above the blue line and wait for the magic to happen! This hopper will collect any crops that have grown within that chunk. Here is how they work: (For the sake of this guide I am using a level 3 crop hopper on all 4 farms) Wheat: Wheat works when the crop is fully grown. It automatically breaks and is collected by the hopper. This is when moved into the chest. Cactus and Sugarcane: Sugarcane: Cactus: Sugarcane and Cactus both work in the same way. They require one of them to be planted (the same as before) If you watch the video closely you will see a very quick flash of the crop when it grows. It is then automatically moved into the chest. These do NOT require any redstone/fences. Any growth is automatically detected and collected by the hopper! (If you have fences there for Cactus the crop hoppers may not collect) Pumpkin and Melons: Pumpkins and Melons work from a fully grown root/stalk. When fully grown they will automatically break and be collected by the hopper and continue to grow. Light is still required like before. Some tips: - 1 crop hopper allowed per chunk (normal hoppers have no limit in the chunk) - Crop hoppers go towards your /limits hopper count - They do not require silk touch to be broken - For now: place the hoppers at crop level (this is only temporary) - Don't use fences or redstone for sugar cane and cactus (it isn't needed) - Do NOT rename them, it will no longer work - Make sure the chunk is loaded - They will NOT stack with normal hoppers in your inventory or chest - Use the /crophoppers menu rather than the menu within the /shop - With the menu, if you are holding a level 1 or level 2 hopper, you can upgrade it for the difference in price to the next level - Crop Hoppers will also work the same as normal hoppers so make sure to connect it to a chest for the items to be deposited - Make sure to have at least one inventory space before purchasing one - There is a limit on the amount of items that can transfer to the hopper to counteract those that will make an even larger and compact farm such as having thousands of melons/pumpkins in a chunk. The limit is per second. --- Level one: Level two: Level three: (This may be adjusted depending on if it can currently be abused) Server benefits: - Lower entities (no more reaching entity limit) - Rise in TPS, smoother and easier gameplay - Chance for all players to farm easier - Lose less money / farm items to clear lag - Lower redstone and piston usage on the sever - More profit if used correctly Thank you all for taking the time to read this guide. If you have any questions, I've missed something or you want some clarification please let me know in reply to this thread, DM me on Discord (Megan#9326) or ask any staff member. If you'd like any extra screenshots of how I set mine up let me know. Thanks again - Megan
For the most successful output it is best to have them within the chunk so it doesnt conflict with the neighbouring chunks.
I've tested the Croppers inside a normal "funnel" hopper system. They don't like to check the lowest hopper to see if it's full. They only send the item to the chest they are attached to from what I've experienced so far (I might have it set up wrong?) Also - PorkFarms with 60 or more pistons (24 spawners) will break the redstone due to more than 100 triggers per 10 seconds. You need to re-design them to allow for less triggers or break the length of pistons to 5. So the 10 long piston version no longer works. Oh - it also seems that with redstone and pistons still being active in the same chunk as the Cropper causing conflict and makes the collection rate horrifically slow. So make sure to kill the redstone/Piston triggers when you use the Cropper. All that being said, excellent Guide Megan Very helpful! Could you clarify something for me please Meg? About the "- Make sure the chunk is loaded " statement? Do you have to be in the chunk - or just near it? Does it affect the clearing rate?
The Chunk I`m pretty sure just has to be loaded, although I`m just getting on to test so I don`t complete answers. My guess is maybe it acts like a crop where you must be within the 5x5 Chunk Area for it to be active? Can't confirm that though
As long as it is loaded! You don't have to be afk in the chunk. When testing I stood in the chunk next to it and it still worked.
Thank you so so so so so much for this! The guide is very informative and adding those tutorials made it so much clearer! Thank you for going above and beyond with this guide Megan #Add2SuggestedGuides
Thanks for the guide! Im considering starting a farm to sell goods and this will be a great guide to refer to
When are you releasing the hoppers that automatically turn Drogo's pigs into cooked meat and stores it?
