[Teamspeak] User Icons and Permanent Channels

    Teamspeak is limited in the way we can offer customization to you. But there are a few things that will make things more interesting.

    The idea is to offer perks to you for a small donation.

    The first perk is to allow you to have a custom 16x16 pixel icon next to your name. It sits behind your donor/member/mod icon. This could be a pay per change, which could keep prices really low or pay one donation and have unlimited changes.

    The next perk would allow members to buy private channels and have them permanently there. The owner of the channel will remain channel admin. Unlike private channels now, they will not disappear when all members leave.

    Other perks could be being able to change descriptions.

    How to implement this?

    There are several ways I can think of:
    • Make it a package: Donate for premium tag, player icon, description and private channel. Rank would be given to you like this but you get the special permission to change your description only. Admins would manage icons and possibly, channels.[​IMG]
    • Each perk is bought separately. You can be given a rank with no prefix or icon but you can still choose a player icon that goes next to your current rank. Ie: Shows up on
      sidebar

      but not in the main chat. This would look cleaner for those who want to show what server they are from.

      This is useful for people know you have donated. This could also be a rank called Premium Icon or Premium Channel so people know what you have purchased.
    • Same as above except make all perks in a package deal
    • Each perk is managed by Cyp as he would be the only one who knows you donated
    The benefits of these perks is you get more customization and make your user experience more personal. This also encourages the trade of in game items because there is something to purchase other than ranks which can be expensive. And because the cost will most likely be cheap, it excludes less of the players on the server.
    The only negatives I see is many channels being made and filling the ts.

    i would support the avatar but i dont really see a need for a permanent channel, you can just make a new one in like 2 clicks.

    With the permanent channels maybe they would go when all the players in it leave, and then as soon as you join again, it's there?

    I like the premium package idea.. I can work on it later today.

    Teamspeak Premium Package

    - Premium Tag
    - 16x16 icon of your choice (No inappropriate icons of course).
    - Permanent icon for your channel
    - Permanent channel above AFK channel
    - Access to edit client description, channel description & password for your channel.
    - Access to set avatar(This would mean regular members cannot have avatars, only premiums).

    If anyone else can come up with more ideas for premium perks feel free to post it below.

    Will we be able to edit the icon, as you said "Permanent icon".

    Also, maybe like Krissy said, TS Mods and SB, MV Mods have the [SB/TS/MV Mod] infront of their name, maybe they could have [Premium]?

    Edit: Also, how will we purchase this premium rank? Will it be available on all of the stores?
