Swear filter in private messages is too much

    It is ridiculous that a server feels the need to restrict swearing so far that it affects private messages between users. If a user is uncomfortable with swearing they can report it to staff. But we shouldn't have to get messages filtered just because we want to swear in a message to a friend. We don't need to be controlled to that extreme.

    I cannot even express my anger to Laini without being blocked... I didn't even say that bad of a word. I've been caught up so many times for saying the S word in pm and staff have gone so far as to warn users for bypassing the filter in private...

    The only filters that need to be in private are ones that detect ip's so people don't advertise. Other than that a private message should be less restricted and moderated when it comes to swearing.

    Please remove this filter from our private messages. Thank you.

    I find this quite annoying. I often like to use filter blocked words when private messaging close friends.
    I know some players would feel uncomfortable with this change though. Maybe when you add them as a friend you gain the ability to evade the filter in private message?

    Support, it has the name 'private' for a reason, it's between 2 players. If the swear hadn't have been caught in the filter, nobody bar the participants of the conversation would have been aware of it in the first place.

    As I said, if you are being cussed out, you can report it etc. Like it always has been. Theres no need for fancy conditions for having the filter work or not. Private is private. We have maintained this since the beginning when skyblock started. There is no need for this change now.

    I agree with part of this, but it’s more so to prevent harassment. Even if there are loop holes to avoid this, not everyone knows of /ignore.

    Swears in replies using /r are blocked because messages can be easily misdirected if someone sends you a message just before you hit enter while replying to someone else. However, messages sent to a specific user are not filtered, since this reduces the chances that your message is sent to someone who is not comfortable with receiving such messages.

    Did you make this change? Because a few days ago I messaged myself a swear using /m and it was blocked :/

    I cannot tell you how many times I just on instinct swear in pm and had redo the message, Support.
    Also this is new news to me because I've never known this to be a thing
